First time on Ferry for many years, first at a tribute night. Arrived at 6:30, the advertised time for diners. We were shown to table with no view of the stage, which is on a lower floor. We could see several smallish TVs around the...dining area showing the stage, only one a modern flat screen tv. Service and food very good, although table service for drinks a bit slow. Finished eating about 8pm. Asked staff if we should head downstairs for entertainment. Downstairs was very busy, considering most diners were still sat upstairs and non-diners were advised to turn up at 8:30. Found one free table which had a "reserved" notice on it. Checked at reception whether this table was for our party as we were new Gold Card Members. Was told tables "can't be reserved" and that "it's not a cabaret" for some reason. Was also asked "Why did you buy a Gold Card anyway?" Support act came on at 8:30 prompt. Decent singer covering good range of songs but mainly stood on same spot on stage. TV images not very clear so wouldn't have known the singer again even if talking face to face. Main act at 9:30 again started promptly with a very good Kenny Rogers tribute lasting about 45 minutes. At 10:30 he was back on as Neil Diamond, an act which got him to the grand Final of Stars in their Eyes in 1993. Dance floor was decent size and well used anytime we could be bothered going down. Overall it was a very good night, the membership introduction offer getting four of us admission to a good show and two courses of lovely food for £50. The way I look at it anything I get after that is free. What was not so good was not being able to see the stage from our table. Between us and the barriers overlooking the stage was a group of about 30 guys, half of whom were seated facing away from the stage. They showed no interest in the acts as far as we could see. Surely it would have been better to swap this massive table with a few smaller ones, allowing more people a good view of the acts? The TV images are so poor quality they are hardly worth watching. The person on reception (Jayne, Jane?) Possibly had a bad night. Otherwise, a bit of training on "Hospitality", "Customer Service Skills" and "How not to undermine the efforts of your sales team" might not go astray. I can see us going back, and we'll definitely try and see Pat Cairns, the main act, again. Would recommend looking out for Gold Card Membership or ItIsOn offers. If we'd each paid the full, advertised price (£26.95) and found non-diners had taken up all the downstairs seats before wed finished our food I'd have been a lot less happy. Also, dont rely on info from bar staff. Most of those on duty on the night we attended seemed as unfamiliar with the setup as we were.More

Due to an unfortunate incident at the ferry, I can't thank the staff enough for their help in helping my wife who was hit by a walking stick falling from the upper deck and striking her on the head and causing her an injury. They...were very quick in their response to provide first aid. And I thank them most sincerely.More

Was told to be there and seated for 6.30pm. Seated not far from door that continued to be opened, and next to closed door onto deck, freezing, asked to be moved and told no it would heat up later when all arrived, forgetting of course...that smokers still going in/out continually. Food was ok, but clearly all pre arranged on plates ready to come out. Decor worn and wooden chairs uncomfortable, with coats, jackets trailing on floor, very basic facilities except the toilets which were good. Meal finished at 7.20pm and with coats worn, at 9.25pm the Tribute acts still not on. Uncomfortable and freezing cold, left and was bitterly disappointed. Would not go back.More
