Ordered the gluten free salt and chilli chicken, recieved a portion of rubbery cold chicken in water with onions. Absolutely disgusting. My partner returned the dish to the restaurant, and they gave her an apology and a new fresh dish, of which was.....just plain cold...rubbery chicken. No sauce, no flavour, nothing. This used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant when I stayed in the area, moved away quite a few years ago, just had a chicken satay from them and it was as good as it was, I see the restaurant has got a few bad...reviews on here so go and try it for yourselfMore
Went for wee birthday dinner here last night.. was a set menu 2 courses for £15.50 not a great amount of variety.. they had salt & chilli ribs on menu so asked if could just have plain ribs with some gravy which was told was...fine however they charged £2 extra for the splash of gravy.. 2 of us ordered beef satay which I always order when out at a Chinese but it was rotten.. the beef was like burnt beef ends on a bed of warm crunchy onions & green peppers with a wee pot of powdery satay sauce on side I have never experienced beef satay like it. I sent mine back& the guy actually questioned if I had had satay before but my mum doesn’t like complain so didn’t send hers back they brought me breast of chicken curry which was ok so we ended up both sharing the one curry. They cleared the table to which there was full beef satay yet when brought the bill still charged full price plus extra £2 for the breast of chicken.. my toddler got fried rice, chips & gravy kids portion plus a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was £6.90. The ice cream was rotten so she never touched it. I also had a large glass of wine which didn’t taste very nice. Def wouldn’t return here for dinner felt was overpriced for not that great food or service.More
Would not recommend eating food from here, the rice was overcooked and smelled like it had been lying around for days! The satay sauce was pure oil and made me physically sick.
This place has changed beyond belief lately, the food is so bad and the customer service has went way down hill. I am convinced it has been bought over recently.
Been coming to the China house for 20 years or maybe more . Place has went down a slippery slope . Portion sizes cut and flavour has all but disappeared the last few years . I now use another 2 Chinese I believe is better...but kept giving here a try until now . Curry sauce is absolutely watery and tasteless, chicken balls are a third of what they used to be with a small slice of chicken in each and more expensive than most places around ? Have discussed with the staff a few times my issues only to be told there’s nothing changed or nothing wrong with my order . As of late terrible service , terrible food ruining a great local name . Disappointed to say the least, unfortunately you can’t leave a 0 review so 1 will have to suffice . Stay clearMore
As it was my birthday we decided to get a home delivery from the China House as a treat and treat it was. Both main meals were plentiful and really tasty The order was taken over the phone and delivery expected in an hour however...the takeaway arrived after 35 mins Reasonably priced too especially for the size of portionsMore
Been here loads of times usually really good but after tonight's curry I'll not be back.it takes a lot for me not to even try eat something but this time a really couldn't eat it, rice had a disgusting taste from it and curry sauce...was so bland all you could taste is flourMore
This restaurant has the best chicken on the skewer Satay in Glasgow, however they really are tight with the sauce and when you ask for plenty of sauce you're met with that will be extra! its not a cheap place to start with. i'd rather...they just charge that than go trough that nonsense, anyway meal is nice as usual in and out, sometimes you'd like to stay a wee bit longer without staff hoovering over you waiting to clear the table. other than that staff are nice, nice settings and will continue you go here.More
2 courses £8.50 or 3 for £9.50 we had chicken noodle soup and spring rolls to start both nice. Followed by sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, salt and chillie chicken and char Sui curry all served with fried rice all lovely but not...enough sauce for amount of rice and too much veg. Has had a make over since I was last in looks much better clean and fresh. Only complaint is the price of a bottle of coke/ iron bru at £2.40 each.More
cracking chinese food. live the honey chilli chicken and rice. they throw in free bottles of coke sometimes. quick deliviries.
Really getting fed up with this place I spend quite a lot of money in here they always get your order wrong also one of the staff is quite rude.
We really enjoyed our dinner tonight. Awesome as usual, only 1 criticism is not enough sauce on meals, once you’re home you’re not going back out ! However dinner was lovely & the onion rings were out magic ! Please add more sauce .....
We use the China House as their Satay dishes are very tasty. However very disappointed in the amount of meat in both a chicken and beef satay tonight. Both portions were dominated by the peppers and onion with less of the meat content in each....Obviously the price doesn't reflect this. Won't be going back anytime soonMore
Food is amazing staff are very welcoming great place to be. I absolutely would so recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyine.
