Had an excellent 6-course tasting menu here while visiting Glasgow. Each course was creative and very good, and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions without issue. They also do a unique take on Old Fashioned. Service was great. A definite fine dining experience to try while in the city.

Great place, nicely decorated but without being flash. Fantastically attentive polite, friendly staff and fabulous food. If you're looking for a foodie experience or special occasion and in Glasgow, this is the place.

A lovely welcoming restaurant. Food was beautiful and the staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating. A bit more expensive than your standard meal but, in this case, you definitely get what you pay for. 5*

We were impressed with The Gannet, a fine-dining Scottish establishment in Glasgow's West End. The restaurant is cozy and offers a 3-course meal for dinner. If you are a vegetarian or have dietary restrictions, I found the staff (and the chef) to be most accommodating and able to remove items to accommodate the dining guest. We sampled many unique dishes during our experience, but the vegetable risotto was the most delicious ever, as was their monkfish starter. Friendly diners abound, and the evening concluded with many tables chatting into the evening. P.S. You might consider a wee Whisky at the next store at Ben Nevis before calling it a night. Musicians may also be playing.

Absolutely amazing food. Dinned here last night, 1st time. Opted for a la carte, had the duck starter, beef main and chocolate pudding with some extra bits thrown in. Every dish was put together with perfection. I am really very impressed. Service was also perfect. Booked again for my birthday and can’t wait to return!

One night away, cosy room absolutely great dinner and breakfast. Great location and the staff are so friendly. Special thanks to Jay on reception who was hugely helpful, told us about the bus route back from St Ives and generally really helpful. Lovely stay. Superb food.

Hi Jtatctkt Thanks very much for the glowing review - unfortunately I believe you may have visited The Gannet in St Ives rather than our restaurant in Glasgow. We have heard great things about their rooms, breakfasts, views & staff and I am sure they would love to hear how much they were appreciated. If you do ever visit Glasgow please come and visit us for a taste of local, seasonal produce in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No rooms or breakfast, but we can make sure you have a great experience! Cheers

Thos was our first visit to The Gannet and our lunch visit was excellent. The layout was such that tables were not too close and the quiet ambiance was perfect for a relaxing lunch. Service was attentive without being " pushy" and we were welcomed with an explanation of the menu. The food itself was again excellent with the Barra Skate my personal highlight. All diners appeared to be couples and not sure if this would be a venue for larger groups. Perhaps the evening dining experience would be different. Plenty of nice pubs in the area for a pre or post drink.

Amazing food as always! Our anniversary lunch was fantastic and an anniversary card signed by the staff was a lovely touch. They genuinely turn every meal into an occasion- I cannot recommend highly enough. In a busy restaurant culture this place is special- the menu is inspired, the staff are truly welcoming and you leave feeling you’ve had a culinary journey you really hoped for.

Four friends having a cocktails, the £65 tasting menu and 2 bottles of wine on a Friday night. Even for a tasting menu the portions were laughably mean, and I have sampled many great tasting menus. The quail egg dish came with exactly one half of a quail egg - who had my other half I was left wondering ! All was gone in a mouthful. The main of cauliflower risotto, mostly puree dollops, was gone in a few forkfuls. I hardly noticed the sausage roll starter it was so tiny. Cumulatively the meal left us all hungry and we literally had to eat as soon as we got home. Waitress service alright, nothing special, happy enough with 10% service charge (discretionary). Not good value was the overwhelming reaction of the party. Three stars was generous and won’t hurry back.

The Gannet is excellent and thoroughly recommended. The tasting menu really shows the skill of the chef team and was creative, seasonal and varied. The setting and ambiance is relaxed and comfortable with attentive service. The presentation of the food was beautiful which made for a wonderful evening. I hope my pictures do it justice. Don’t think twice about this place - just book it and enjoy it! The only small negative for me was that I think the maitre’d could have been more friendly and helpful. That’s not to say it was bad, but when everything else was exceptional, it’s a shame because he let the side down.

The Gannet is located to the west of Glasgow in the Finnieston area. It is fairly close to the Kelvingrove art gallery. I had booked a table online for 9.15 on a Saturday evening and opted for the seasonal tasting menu with matching wine. The food and wine were sublime. The starters were sausage roll, oyster with caviar and focaccia & wheaten bread. Further on, there was cured halibut, onion veloute, venison, John Dory and aged beef. All were superb with the halibut taking top bill. I had the optional cheese dish of Bonnet with pickled walnut and pear chutney followed by chocolate cremeux. The wines complemented the food really well and they were wines you wouldn’t normally get in a restaurant. There was a particularly good white from Provence but my two favourites were a light Hungarian red and a 2007 German Riesling which went really well with the Bonnet cheese. In addition I had a large gin & tonic plus a liquor coffee made with pastis. I must thank manager Kevin and his staff for their excellent service, explaining the intricacies of the dishes and wines. I also enjoyed the quirky background music. Have You Ever Seen The Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival being the highlight. As befitting a restaurant of this quality, it wasn’t cheap at over £210 including service but it was most definitely a very worthwhile and pleasing experience.

Perfectly cooked food, beautifully presented and portions were just the right size. Friendly and efficient service displaying a good knowledge of all the dishes served in a relaxing, unhurried manner. Overall a delightful and relaxing experience enjoyed by 2 couples celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary - thank you to all at The Ganet. Would certainly go back and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Top restaurant. Outstanding in every aspect of eating out. We enjoyed the 6 course tasting experience. Faultless. Staff are knowledgeable and courteous and combined with a very cool interior deliver an excellent night's fine dining.
