Called in on Monday evening, place was really busy, we were seated quickly, but warned our meal may take a little time to arrive as they were so busy but we didn't really have long to wait, started with French onion soup which was fab, my friend had goats cheese salad which also got a thumbs up. We both then... More

Second time here after 5 years: service was first class and good food. Great atmosphere. Liked the menu - shame I couldn't manage the desserts which looked awesome. Enjoyed relaxing with the family. - a great night out.

A bit of a trudge from Central station but finally got there. On opening the outside door we were met with a rather heavy curtain which had to be swept aside. On entering restaurant first impressions not exactly what I as expecting!!! However the staff more than made up with their friendliness. We were shown to the first booth up... More

We had one night in Glasgow and this was highly recommended so we were happy that a table was available. However, while we loved the look of the menu, the actual delivery was disappointing. We were unsure as to how much was produced on premises and how much brought in. The “Wild Mushroom Risotto with rocket and parmesan” was mostly... More

Went as a party of 3. Drinks order taken and starters ordered and arrived very quickly. I had pate, which was nice, though as usual with pate, loads of pate left over after oatcakes finished. Others in our group had scallops with chorizo and king prawns. They both thoroughly enjoyed. Mains arrived without too much of a wait. I had... More

Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal. Wild Mushroom risotto was excellent. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Quite a trendy place which was busy the night we were there. Only negative was some food splashes on the wall. Maybe children had been there!! All in all good value. We will be back.

This has to be the best little family-run place to eat, in the heart of Glasgow. Situated at the top of West Campbell St, it serves the most mouthwatering food, and caters for all from, meat and fish lovers, as well as the most picky, of vegetarians, to a selection of dishes for kids. The service is friendly yet efficient... More

Visited the Red Onion recently for the first time using a Living Social Voucher - two courses and a glass of prosecco. On arrival we were shown to a booth. The restaurant is nicely decorated although I did feel we were a little close to some of the other tables. The service was good, fast and efficient. We were immediately... More

Have never returned so quickly to a restaurant but wanted to check out 1st visit wasn't a fluke. Once again we were not disappointed. Food, service, atmosphere and cleanliness was excellent. Menu is amazing, great choices and full plates. Definitely be back for further visits.

I had read other reviews about this place and was looking forward to going taking Mum for early Mother's Day treat. The food was good, blade of beef especially nice but the service was truly disappointing. We weren't offered a wine list, after asking for one we then waited 15 minutes before I managed to get someone's attention to order... More
