Second time at Nostrana and was not disappointed. Excellent service, wonderful food, best pizza ever. We would both highly recommend.

So I’ve lived 5 minutes from pizza magic for 12 years yet Monday my first visit to the now Nostrana. Worth the wait. Staff friendly, efficient service, fresh light room. Small but perfectly formed menu. Fast fresh huge delicious pizza- the best I have eaten...in Glasgow which given that I operated one of the city oldest pizzeria for 25 years is praise. I will return for the torta della nonna soon, no room this tile. Only issue no grappa. Get some in as way better than xo tequila or vodka. Bella.More
Gooooood Afternoon Ladies, Gents, Thems and They's. Jimmy Bovril is back with another review this time just along the road from the pillar of salt. (See previous reviews for reference) So it is a dreary Autumn Day in the land of Hyndland and two individuals...are feeling hungry. Enter Nostrana a concept talked about for about 5 years finally come into fruition. We enter the building to a warm welcome and taken to our table instantly. Table is round the corner from the bar fairly out of sight of the staff. This did not stop them consistently coming round to check on us and our drinks order was taken promptly. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the entire visit. We ordered the Burrata which was creamy tasty and a great start to the meal. Shortly followed by a pizza that rivalled any pizza we've ever had in Glasgow. We choose the Funghi Bianca from the Nostrana options on the menu and it did not dissapoint. More than appropriate sharing size (we were stuffed) Fresh dough, beautifully cooked and piping hot as it came to our table. Clearly made with fresh, tasty ingredients. Wine and beer choices were great. Im a huge fan of Beaver Town Neck Oil which seems to be appearing on draught pretty much everywhere at the moment. My Partner had the Il Forte Gavi wine option which was fantastic. Atmosphere was great. The place has a traditional Italian family run business vibe to it. Everyone was getting looked after and the staff did everything with a smile. If your drink looked empty you were asked if you'd like another. Attention to the customers was second to none. After the pizza we contemplated dessert and decided to share some Ice Cream. The vanilla was fantastic and the chocolate complemented it beautifully. Solid 10/10. All in all we had a great time and wee will definitely be back. If you haven't found that pizza that really hits the spot in Glorious Glasgow then this would be a good place to start. Only problem with the visit for as good as the staff are we couldn't leave a tip Via card payment. We don't carry cash as much as we used to as I'm sure the majority of the visitors to Nostrana don't either. The staff deserve their tips and this should be updated as soon as possible. Great work Nostrana. No disappointment here. Thank you for reading this far. I hope you enjoy your experience at Nostrana.More
If you liked Pizza Magic you’ll love this place. A warm welcome in pleasant surroundings with plenty of time to enjoy our food - our fish and spaghetti carbonara was freshly cooked and delicious. We opted for a table inside and the huge bi-folding doors...ensured that we didn’t miss out on the last of the warm weather. Good luck to them.More
This was our first trip since Pizza Magic transformed itself into Nostrana and it was brilliant. Stopped by at lunchtime and sat outside under the canopy. The new restaurant looks fab - a classy little jeweled box. We shared a huge and wonderfully fresh Sicilian...pizza and we both thought it was probably the best pizza we've had this side of Brindisi (specifically, a revelatory pizza bianca we had on honeymoon years ago at the very end of the Appian Way!) We followed that with a beautifully gooey Tiramisu and coffee. We thought the staff were great and we were going to leave a tip but their card machines don't accept them yet. Ah well, we'll just have to go back for more asap. Probably involving one of their cocktails next time. Thanks Nostrana and top job!More
Was excited to try Nostrana, new restaurant in prime location in Hyndland but I am so disappointed. The service was beyond slow..... tables left because of the wait. The table behind us waited an hour & a half for 2 pizzas. The staff are clearly...inexperienced & require training. They, like the management showed no interest in the customers... didn't even ask if we enjoyed our food, wanted anything else etc. The restaurant was freezing as both doors were wide open. Customers had coats on & kept getting up to shut the doors. Lastly the food- I enjoyed my pizza but my companion less so. I know it is early days for this venture but if they carry on like this, it won't get to carry on. Sadly I won't be rushing back.More
A local for us and only opened a few days. The food was great and good value for money. I had the seafood paste special, which was lovely. The staff are mostly young and some are inexperienced but all nice and helpful (that will improve...with time as it is only the second day of opening). Luckily we had cash for a tip as it was not possible to add it to your card. I do not use cash as is the case for most people in this cashless society. This has to change otherwise the staff will miss out on tips!! I would have felt really uncomfortable if I could not leave a tip. The owners have to sort this out!More
Opening day of Nostrana that has after a long time taken the place of Pizza magic on Hyndland Rd. Question - are the pizzas as good as Pizza Magic's? Yes! They claim improvements which based on one shared pizza seems fair. For the avoidance of...doubt, these are seriously good pizzas. Is it a good ambience - yes judging from the many other diners. Music - great playlist, for those of us who are not as young as we once were. Was it busy? Yes, but the first day rush was being managed well. Will we return? Yes, without doubt.More
I've come here from greenock for pizza for years. Always had good service and the pizza has obviously been good if I would travel from greenock. See a few bad reviews on here. Cant understand why. Never had bad service. I've had to wait a...little while but the place has been busy. If you want crap fast food then go somewhere else. I dont mind waiting a little bit for good food.More
Gorgeous pizza at an insanely good price. I would have taken a picture but I was too busy eating it.
I visited Pizza Magic last night and was thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service. The Salsiccia pizza was delicious, served hot and fresh (just like it says on the box!) and the staff were happy to help and made sure my order...was taken care of from start to finish. I couldn't be happier with the overall experience and I will definitely be back, this institution in the West End is the only place worthy of visiting for pizza. It is a real asset to the community.More
First time visiting Pizza Magic, pizza ordered was thin Hot and Spicy......I was told it would take 15 mins.......after 30 mins waiting I asked about my order and was told "we're really busy" i.e that this was info unavailable when I ordered? Pizza eventually available...after 40 mins from ordering - pizza was fine but it was certainly not "thin"......my guess is average. When you say you're going to do something then do it or advise customer pro-actively that there is a problem delivering what you promised. I'll be going back to Casa Blanca in future for orders.More
The Gourmet pizza was delicious a staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely return. Thanks guys.
Quick delivery, reliable too. Awesome pizza ...thin crust is best in show. Terrific toppings menu. And accept cash on delivery
Promised delivery within an hour when asked why this was not achieved they replied that this would only be available for collection. They are obviously taking orders that they cannot supply. A really good product spoiled by poor management
