Went here for a few drinks on the way home as it's nearer the train than the other pubs we were in. Been many times upstairs and down. Great PUB, not fancy, not trying to be anything it's not... a bit rough round the edges,...More

Ok food. Stop serving dinner at 7.30 and we arrived at 7.45. Thankfully they begrudgingly got us food if we ordered quick. Once the karaoke started had a fun vibe.

This is a large traditional Glasgow boozer that serves food. Looks a bit dark and forbidding, but dont let that put you off. All sorts of people drink here..the smooth and the rough and them in between. Usually have a couple of good real ales...More

Went for a dinner. Stayed for the bartender . It was our first night in Scotland. I wanted to try various whiskies. A knowledgeable bartender helped educate me. Learned a lot. Claim of longest bar in Europe is dubious. Still a good place for pub...More

I understand that it is pretty busy on a Friday but you could try the royal Scot bar which is just a minute's walk from the horseshoe bar and there is a bar called the crystal palace you could try as well. Hope this helps.
