Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was visiting Glasgow on my own on business and took the 10 minute bus ride from the Central Station to Fanny Trollopes. I had not made a reservation but was immediately made welcome and given a table by the window. The restaurant was already...busy, mainly with groups and couples, but I was not neglected as a solo diner. The food was superb. I started with a seafood cocktail which had contrasting flavours and textures, followed by pork belly served with sausage, black pudding, sauté potatoes and vegetables, all delicious and attractively presented. I did not have room for a dessert although the menu looked tempting. Two satisfying courses together with two medium glasses of very reasonable wine came to £48.50 which I consider excellent value for the quality. Unfortunately I live too far away to become a regular patron but I shall certainly try to visit Fanny Trollopes again next time I visit Glasgow.More

This place is amazing and I can recommend Fanny Trollopes if you enjoy quality ingredients, cooked with flair and imagination, beautifully presented. We chose it because it was rated no1 on TripAdvisor for Glasgow west end and the website looked good. Their Christmas menu offered...outstanding food and excellent value for money. The service was friendly, everything was delicious and we will definitely be back. We live 75 miles away but we’re already planning our next trip!More

We returned to Fanny Trollopes for lunch, as it was a few years since our last disapponting visit. The restaurant had been refurbished with 2 rows of tables and banquettes. The walls are adorned with an eclectic mix of modern paintings. We entered through a...curtained vestibule and were warmly welcomed and promptly seated. We were offered the 'Christmas' menu rather than the A la Carte. For a starter we had the hot smoked salmon and cheese fish cake. The fish cake was crispy and was complimented by a smooth tarragon aioli. For the main I had the Perthshire venison loin, which was perfectly cooked as requested medium. The meat was seared on the outside, set on mash with nicely cooked veg. My wife enjoyed the sea bass fillet with crispy skin. We finished with traditional clootie dumpling and sauce Anglaise. There is a good choice of wines and cocktails The food was first class, cooked and presented well and very tasty. Highly recommended for lunchMore

Lovely warm welcome on arrival from Leo, we were seated in a wee booth, nice ambiance, music was really good. Food had so many flavours, generous portions, venison was the best I’ve had, it was cooked to perfection, as was the duck and pork belly,...white Rioja was really good too. Service was excellent without being obtrusive. I couldn’t fault this place. Well worth the travel from Fife. We will certainly be back. Keep up the good work Leo.More

We found Fanny’s by accident as we were staying in a hotel a few minutes walk away. As soon as we walked in and were welcomed we knew we were going to love our evening. It’s a cozy restaurant staffed by attentive ladies keen to...know enough about you to make your evening great. We ate a fantastic 3 course meal (lamb, ox, venison, the best cheesecake ever…) paired with a sublime white Rioja that I’ll be chasing down elsewhere. There was not one thing we’d change. The tables are close but it’s nice to feel part of a community of eaters enjoying well prepped food and great service. Fanny would be so proud of you all. Well done and we will be back.More

Superb food, but quite pricy. The drinks certainly added significantly to the bill. A large glass of white rioja came in at £11. But we were there for a celebration meal and couldn't fault a thing, so it was worth it. Our son started with...scallops and followed with venison on haggis mash. He said the venison was the best thing he's ever eaten.More

I’m slowly getting used to eating out by myself after losing my partner last year. I had a lovely meal at Fanny Trollopes. The pigeon breast starter was probably the star but the chicken supreme was tender and the cheese a tasty mix. The margarita...was nice and there is a reasonable choice of wines by the glass. There was a nice buzz in the restaurant and the staff were efficient and attentive. I will definitely be back.More

The food was so lovely at this cosy bistro, that we had to visit twice during our stay in Glasgow! The service was great and the staff were very warm and welcoming. On our second visit, we were served by Harry and Megan! I would...recommend the veal, mushroom risotto and the crushed meringue with rhubarb and passion fruit parfait! We will definitely revisit this special eatery next time we visit this vibrant, friendly city.More
