7 of us dined here early evening. I hadn't visited the Shenaz in 30 years and was looking forward to see how it stacked up against it's 80's reputation as the place to go for Indian in Glasgow. Firstly the food: very varied menu covering...all bases; the food and portions were good and plentiful. The service was fairly dour and uninterested. Prices were high in comparison to similar establishments. It was a decent meal but perhaps living on their laurels a bit as nearby establishments ( Mr..../Mother....) knock it into a cocked hat. Comment: must try harder.More

Good food, nice restaurant and welcoming staff. Whilst the portion sizes are big, both my friend and I did find this to be top end of the price range. Four poppadoms, two starters, two curries, two rice, one naan and four pints of beer coming...in at around £75.More

This once must go to place is now a dumpster fire of a restaurant, I had high hopes on Saturday 30th April 2022, travels over 1 hr here for a takeaway for my dad , and 3 dishes at over 60 GBP, and wow,, your...better off with the Tesco value microwave basic curry then this place, the food was so bad that it was barley edible, am going to report this to the council standards it was that bad, avoid this restaurant all all costs, very very poor, your better off with a Greg’s sausage roll if your hungry,More

The first time I ever had Indian food was at Shenaz, June 1977. My parents took me there as a reward for getting good school grades. 45 years was a long wait to return. It did not disappoint. I had the Special Lamb and it...was delicious. Soft tender Lamb in a wonderful sauce. The mushroom poori to start was full of flavour. It won’t be another 45 year wait.More

My husband and i recently visited the Shenaz on a Saturday evening after checking out reviews. It was busy and we thought we had made a good choice, place looked nice and the service was good. We had two main courses which both were very...oily. So much so that for the first time I remember I left a good bit of food and did not take the remainder home. We eat out a lot and have eaten Indian food in many places. I wouldn't normally leave a review , really only if the restaurant or food was especially excellent or terrible. This restaurant and food was neither however it also was nowhere close to the 4.5 reviews shown and this is the reason for writing this review. The flavours were mediocre and especially very oily, we both felt really very heavy after eating and left a fair bit which is really unusual. First visit and wont be back.More

Have eaten here many times, and am yet to come away less than fully satisfied. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restrooms very clean, which is a good benchmark. Have booked for next week.

My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 45 years on approximately a monthly basis. We have never been even remotely disappointed. And on leaving we always say to each other something like "Well that makes life worth living." or "Such...a civilised place - so uplifting." etc etc (Just before the Covid lockdown we stocked up on take-away curries for our freezer.) We always seem to see the same regular couples scattered around the restaurant so we presume they feel the same way we do. As for other Glasgow curry houses, we occasionally try them but always conclude that they offer an inferior culinary experience to that provided by The Shenaz.More

Been going to Shanaz since Mr Latif had it next door, used to be the best restaurant in Glasgow, sadly this no longer applies to Shanaz, service is all about getting you served and getting you out,our last visit was probably the worst and when we left most...of our dinner he came over to remove the plates NEVER asked why we left most of our food, I've taken friends there on a few occasions and when we picked up the bill, jokingly they said, glad you picked that bill up as it certainly wasn't worth what we had ,Bring back "Big Jaz" the face of Shanaz, sadly the saying of "1 visit means many" no longer applies!!!More
