Writing this in disbelief but after reading some reviews below maybe it doesn’t come as a surprise what just happened to me and my family. Phoned around Glasgow for a restaurant this afternoon all fully booked but managed to get a table for 5 in...ORO. When we arrived I was surprised the restaurant was so empty but now I know why. My husband’s main course of Sea-bass arrived completely uncooked and freezing cold in the middle so my husband sent it back while my daughter, myself and my two small grandchildren ate our main courses. After around 20 mins my husband was still awaiting a fresh main course so he called over a waiter and mentioned this and they in turn brought over this older woman who asked what our problem was. My husband explained his family were almost finished their dinner and he was still to eat to which she replied “what do you want me to do about that ?!” I almost choked on my food when I heard her reply and I in turn asked her if she felt it satisfactory that food be served raw in a restaurant. She again replied “what do you want me to do about that ?!” . I said to her I was the customer and I felt her attitude towards us was quite distasteful to which she left the table. My husband , daughter and myself were all in shock by her response and within another 5/10 mins my husband’s second attempt at a main course arrived. He ate that and just as one of the waiters was clearing our table she asked if everything had been okay to which I replied “it’s not been the best today to be honest between my husbands fish and also my pizza main course that both my daughter and I felt was tasteless and overflowing with tomato base” . That was all the feedback we gave. My husband then went to the bathroom and asked me to ask for the bill and before I knew it this man approached our table very aggressively and practically shouted in my face GET THE F**K out my restaurant! I was absolutely taken aback that first he shouted and swore at not only me as a female but also he upset my two little grandchildren who could see this happening. I asked him again what he meant and he again shouted to me GET THE F**K out my restaurant! I very calmly asked him why he was being aggressive towards me when all I did as a paying customer was give feedback on my food experience we as a family had just encountered. He said how dare I complain about his fish and his pizza and I said I have a right to complain and I was still willing to pay my bill to which he replied GET OUT. In all my years socialising I have never ever been asked to leave a restaurant and the way he spoke to me in front of my two little grandchildren was far from acceptable. My husband who had missed all this came back and could see I was visibly shaken went to find the owner and confronted him on how he spoke to me and he told him the same thing and to get out. My daughter who as a nurse had just come off a 14 hour shift was so upset she raised her voice and said you shouldn’t be serving raw food! My family and I left but there were other customers shaking their heads. One couple even came up to us outside and told us they hear loads of complaints about the owner and his attitude but I am still in shock over it. I’m writing this review out of anger and trip advisor is a platform to be ablo express an opinion . I will never ever be back again and would recommend others to think the same. How dare he swear at me and shout at me in front of two little children ! Absolutely disgusting and no wonder others have written reviews about him below .More

Absolutely appalled at what I witnessed tonight!!! I was having dinner with my husband when the owner/manager approached a family, whom had just complained about their food which to be honest quite rightly so as the man’s fish was raw!!! The owner told the table...to “get to f**k ” out his restaurant for complaining whilst two children were sat at the table. The owners attitude and behaviour is disgusting. Using such fowl language to customers and even more so around the children, who were only trying to dine out together on a Sunday evening!!! If you scroll down it seems the manager has had runs in with previous customers and their attitude is always bad. Avoid at all costs!!!More

Recommended by a friend as her favourite Italian & the closest to all the food she's had in Italy. I couldn't agree with her more!! The place is spotless, warm & welcoming and the gorgeous smells hit you as soon as you walk in! The...staff were all so friendly and helpful to customers...but also with eachother which was lovely to see! The food was so fresh and tasted incredible too! I asked for my pasta dish extra spicy and they delivered!! Wine was brought in an adorable wee decanter as well & was topped up by staff before I had a chance! Would 100% reccomend and am planning on taking my partner here in a few weeks too!More

Terrible customer service. Manager has an awful attitude. We had been regular customers. We won't return. Don't expect them to be interested in serving you or dealing with requests. Food is average at best.

What a fabulous restaurant, great menu, great service and the most delicious pizza I’ve had in a long time. The Tiramisu was to die for. Sorry there aren’t any photos but I was loving it so much I forgot.

Been many times before and it has always been nice, went with the family to celebrate my son’s birthday. We had to wait an hour for our main courses to arrive. The waiter apologised and explained one of the chefs hadn’t turned up.When they did arrive, my...wife’s pizza had no cheese on it!!That had to go back, while the rest of us ate our main courses(which were very nice)Another waiter apologised for what had happened as the pizza came back with cheese on it 10 minutes later. At the end of the meal I kindly asked the waiter if there was anything that could be done for us, he went to the owner who said no.I have since contacted the owner by phone and explained that I was disappointed that my complaint wasn’t dealt with properly. He was quite dismissive and kept interrupting me and telling me I should have brought this to his attention during the meal( he was aware the pizza got sent back and that we had to wait for our main course for a long time) but said he would check the restaurant cameras for the timings and get back to me,I then received a text from him, telling me that we received our main courses within an hour and this should be acceptable to us. Terrible customer service.More

Just spoke to a horrifically unhelpful member of staff on the phone with a 'computer says no' attitude. Passive aggressive tone from the start of the conversation, repeatedly calling me 'madam'. Oro's website wasn't working when I tried to book for Christmas eve, so I...phoned up. When I explained this to the member of staff she said 'it must be your internet madam, the website works for me'. I explained this was possible, as I was calling from overseas however, websites of local competitors in the area were working fine. My family and I have visited the restaurant many times over the years, so I was shocked by her refusal to help me and a bit baffled as she just kept repeating I would have to book via the website, even when I explained the situation about being overseas. I also doubted the fact it was my internet because I had also tried on 5G, and the website had still not worked. I asked if because of the fact I was overseas, would it not be possible to make an exception in order to help me, otherwise I wouldn't be able to make a booking for my family. I was a bit stuck. She said they cannot take bookings over the phone for weekends, only week days and same day bookings, which showed they do have the ability to take bookings over the phone but she was choosing not to. She then added it was 'company policy'... Odd company policy not to help out repeating customers. I just got the impression she didn't want to be helpful. I pointed out that this meant I wouldn't be able to visit the restaurant, she just said 'I DO hope you manage to fix your internet, madam'... implication being it was my fault because of my dodgy internet...I was able to come straight off the phone and book another local restaurant, using their website. Disappointing but maybe it's for the best if this is their standard of customer service!! Horrific tone, horrific attitude.More

Dear guest, thank you for your review. You feel that it is unfair to not be able to book over the phone for a party on Christmas Eve. i reckon that most restaurants would insist on a deposit for such a party. we don't ask...More

Restaurant was recommended to us and because it’s near where we live we thought we’d try it out. We hadn’t booked a table on a busy Friday evening but luckily they were able to accommodate us. Despite having to vacate the table by 7 pm...we didn’t feel rushed in anyway. The food was lovely and presented well. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.More

First time at ORO. Went with a group of friends to celebrate one of their special birthdays. When we arrived the owner did not greet us warmly and put us to a side table. Once the table was ready we went down and ordered our...drinks and food. The price seemed a little expensive for mediocre food that we received on the day. Myself and the rest of the group were unwell on the night with sickness and diarrhoea, we all had different meals so unsure how this could be. I’m not deterring people but proceed with caution when trying it out.More

Booked this for my mum's 85th birthday and we were not disappointed! Staff were lovely. The restaurant is fancier than I expected and when we first went in, a waiter offered to take our coats. The choice on the menu was incredible but, initially, I...was concerned at the price. That said, the food was incredible and well worth the spend. The portions were plentiful and full of flavour. There was more than enough for even the hungriest of us. We did not have room for desserts. I'd highly recommend this restaurant for special treats and celebrations. It was perfect!More

First trip to Oro in a good while, popped in for a post nursery quick bite to eat. Place is busy and nice buzz and decor lovely, shame about the non existent welcome at front desk and greeting of you’ll need to be out in...an hour. No mid week or pre theatre deals here. £15 for bowl of basic pasta no need to worry about portion size being too much either. Unfortunately pasta sent back as uncooked and inedible. No check back and wait to get service. Eventually get waiter and pasta replaced promptly and again no check back, wait again, Ask for Parmesan, wait again, ask someone else for Parmesan wait again pasta now cold. Plus side kids pizza was lovely and good value at £6.95. However why charge £3.95 for a small 50p type carton of kids apple juice? Seriously what a rip off I’d expect to pay that for a small glass of wine. Left feeling underwhelmed and £30 gone, no thankyou or goodbye from the 2 managers on the front desk. So many great Italian restaurants in Glasgow shame about this one.More
