Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This little cafe, which is set in a church building (and used as a church on Sundays and once every Wednesday) is just beautiful, and feels like a home away from home to me.
Everything about the cafe is peaceful and like a sanctuary. The staff - some of which are volunteers - are very welcoming and polite. The food is utterly delicious, and very reasonably priced.
Best of all, the cafe is not for profit and donates any profit it makes to local charities.
I couldn’t recommend it more!

A hearty bowl of soup in a peaceful location. We both had soup one chicken and leek broth and a Sweet potato accompanied by lovely fresh bread and butter. This is a really great location to stop mid day to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. Excellent value too.

Popped in here for a wee bowl of soup on a horrible winters day.
A simple menu but only wanted a snack. Soup selection was fabulous and exceeded our expectations when it arrived. Very generous portion served with a scone (never heard of serving a scone with soup but it was great). Ordered both the morrocan chicken and bacon / broccoli soup. Both were absolutely delicious
Then had a coffee and hot chocolate & a slice of lemon drizzle cake. Lovely. Stuffed 😂
Enjoyed the food so much we ordered a takeaway to take home to my elderly parents.
Fab food, great staff who were very helpful and friendly and a lovely setting which was very well spaced out.. A gem of a place that we stumbled upon but will definitely be back and have already recommended this place to friends
Thank u to all the staff. Well done xx

Warm, clean, bright, welcoming. Excellent soup - I had Thai Lentil and Sweet Potato, it was hot and tasty and full of wonderful ingredients. I was a bit early for the soup, so I had a cheese and chive scone and a pot of tea while I was waiting. Perfect!

A wonderful tranquil oasis right in the centre of Glasgow. The soup, cakes, scones ..... everything is just wonderful. Fresh, full of flavour and served with a smile. Homeless people are given food for free and with dignity so it would be appropriate to leave a donation as you pay if you are able to although no-one there will press you to do so. Great as a meeting place or for solo dining. A safe, friendly haven which I cannot recommend enough.

Second visit and it won’t be my last. A great choice of homemade soups, pastas, scones and cakes all at a reasonable price. The staff are all friendly and attentive. Looking forward to going back and all profits go to a good cause.

I met a friend for lunch at the Wild Olive Tree cafe. It's a lovely setting and an ideal place to meet in the centre of the city. They offer a variety of soups and serve them with either bread or scones. We chose Thai Chicken Soup and I chose a Sultana Scone, which was served with butter and jam, while my friend chose a cheese scone. The soup was absolutely delicious. A bit spicy but not overly hot, which chunks of chicken and veg. The scone was wonderful - and I consider myself a bit of an expert on scones! This is my favourite place to have lunch in town.

So glad to return for 1st post lockdown visit with my Mum. As always excellent choice of soups. I chose chicken/pepper/tomato and it was absolutely delicious, full of beans too. My Mum chose Cauliflower/leek.chedder, which she loved. Cranberry and orange scones with cream and jam with tea to follow. Bill was just under £16.
Staff always pleasant, everything in place to make Covid secure too.
Will be back next time in city center.

This was a lovely find in the middle of Glasgow, when everything was so busy. It was peaceful. They make all their own meals and give away some to homeless people. It is possible to contribute to this initiative at the till. The staff are very helpful. On a hot day, the first thing they did was to put a bottle of water and glasses on to our table.

Passed many a times and missed this hidden gem. My cousin who frequently dines here invited two of us who had never been we were not disappointed. Yes you may have to wait to for a table we didnt think this was an issue as we knew there is no reserving tables it's a cafe not a restaurant. The cafe is very clean, small menu offering good value and quality food while waiting we had lovely chat with cafe Chaplain & staff. Most importantly is their ethos I will definitely be back soon. Keep up the good.

My friend and I didn’t know what to expect when we dropped by this cafe, but we are so happy we did! I got the mocha and my friend got the latte (two actually, because she liked it so much)! We can recommend both drinks! We also ordered the chocolate banana cake. HIGHLY recommend. It’s moist, the perfect level of sweetness, and absolutely delicious!! The service from the servers was exceptional and the profits made are used to give back to the community. The pasta salad also looked amazing—we hope to go back and try it at a later date!

You can enjoy the best soup in a tiny restaurant inside a church. All ingredients are fresh and bakeries are delicious.
If you get there after 12:30 you should wait for a long time to find a table, but it really worth it.
The manager said that at the end of the day all leftovers will be distributed among homeless and poor people as a charity.

Fantastic place.
Stopped in for lunch before travelling back South.
Food was lovely, but what makes it very special is the friendly staff, who do such great work in the community to help support people.
Inspirational!
