Great meal for two in this cosy venue - with seating restricted by Covid regulations, booking is a must.
We had goats cheese and jalapeno poppers to start, both very tasty. My burrito was packed with very rich and warming chilli, nestled on a bed of rice. I also had the spicy fries on the side which were incredibly moreish. My partner's beef fajitas looked impressive on a sizzler plate, although the meat was a little chewy in parts. In hindsight, chicken may have been a better option!
Service was very friendly and quick - we will certainly visit again when we're able to enjoy a margarita or two...

We were very lucky to get booked for Saturday. We were told at time of booking we could only have the table for an hour & a half which was fine.
Upon arrival all very professional with track & trace details, masks, sanitiser etc.
We placed our drinks order while we had a look at the menu. Thr raspberry margarita's were amazing!
Starters were superb, we both thoroughly enjoyed jalapeno poppers & pulled pork open taco.
Our mains arrived & I nearly died when I saw the size of the "dirty burrito". This would have fed the both of us at least... it was absolutely beautiful, but such a waste of food. My partner's beef fajitas were awesome too.
Staff & service was spot on. I'd just say to cut down on portion sizes and save yourself some money.
We had a lovely evening & the bill was very reasonable.

The outside space at the back courtyard looked lovely and lively, with the picnic tables, deckchairs, bunting and margarita truck. It’s a reduced menu, all served in cardboard takeaway boxes but the food was delicious as always. Really friendly staff too. Our teenagers like it too!

Waited 50 mins for a starter, chorizo n prawns the only tasty dish the entire night. You could make better nachos with a bag of tescos own brand nachos n slices of cheese. Both our mains were bang average and the service was poor. Doesnt live up to hype.

Arrived to owner not wearing face mask and leading us to table then leaning in to tell us what was no longer available on menu. Made us feel uncomfortable as other staff were wearing masks. Enchiladas really bad. Stodgy and reheated. Like a supermarket ready meal that’s been microwaved. Left 3/4 of it and went home hungry. I’m a local who eats out a couple of times a week so shame they’ve not earned my cash.

Arrived on Sunday afternoon at 12.30 after deciding to make a quick pit stop. Greeted by a blonde woman on the table facing the door folding napkins. “Hiya, I’m sorry we haven’t booked but do you have a table for two and a pram please?” - restaurant completely empty. “No actually, I’m afraid I don’t”.
I stood for a few seconds just looking around and explained we wouldn’t be long. “No, I have three 4s and 2 2s due in” - this left at least three other tables for two. The lady went on to explain they had no room for a pram (without seeing said pram). I politely said, I really think we could fit without causing any disruption as we can tuck the pram in. “Fine, I mean give it a go if that’s what you think” (all whilst still just sitting folding napkins). So I pop out to get my wife and newborn baby (in a very compact pram with only the car seat). Realising how unwelcome we felt when I opened the door to see them standing in pouring rain I realised that I’d rather not negotiate trying to spend my money somewhere that it clearly wasn’t wanted or needed. I explained that actually, no we won’t try to figure it out as the service has been really poor and we would rather just go elsewhere. This was the only point where the woman stood up and seemed to feign any interest. She tried to argue that she tried to accommodate, had that been the case we would obviously not be here taking time to review.
I should also mention, when the first table did arrive (whilst I was still mid negotiations) she proceeded to sit and fold napkins whilst pointing to them which table they were on!? Just wow. If the problem was that she had all bookings coming at one time and so couldn’t take walk ins due to pressure on the kitchen (as I said, I had mentioned we would be quick and there was not another soul in the restaurant) then I would have understood and left. The issue was I was told there was no room at the inn for the pram without even taking a look at the thing!?
We make a really conscious effort to eat in small independent restaurants these days, feeling like they really deserve the business (we have really enjoyed Bibi’s before). We walked 100 yards down the road to another small independent which couldn’t have been any more welcoming or accommodating, sat for an hour and had a quick bite (as promised) and they were £70 up.
Mise en place being done as a priority over welcoming guests in service time is just a basic no.
Won’t be back unfortunately.

We visited Bibi’s Cantina on a Saturday night and left really disappointed.
The starters were really average, we had the chicken quesadilla and the stuffed jalapeños. Nothing you wouldn’t be able to make at home.
The mains were significantly large and fairly terrible. We had fish tacos and steak tacos. The steak tacos were soggy and stale, they weren’t very Mexican at all and were missing half of the ingredients listed on the menu (iceberg lettuce, guacamole and feta). The fish tacos were also under seasoned and the fish was past its best, the carrot shavings had brown edges meaning they’ve probably been prepped days ago..
In general all the food was under seasoned and bland, all served with a handful of rocket on the side (we all know that’s a red flag)
The atmosphere in the restaurant seemed nice however, I was sitting near the kitchen and all I could hear was the music playing in the kitchen, the chefs shouting and signing and the microwave going off every 2 minutes. Would highly recommended a door.
The staff were really nice and attentive, they gave us a couple of complimentary shots of frozen margaritas and helped us pick our mains, however… We certainly won’t be back.

So very sad to see the decline in this Restaurant !!! I used to go on a regular basis but since moving out of the city I haven’t been for some time and was very excited to return .
I very rarely negatively review but this was just particularly terrible .
I had booked online and was informed by email that we had the table until 2030 from the get go it was very apparent that The waitress was clearly not interested and it became apparent that we were expected to eat and leave as soon as possible . The food was not very nice at all and the dessert was served on hot plates , when we asked for coffee we were informed that there was no milk !
Everything was extremely sloppy and was more like a fast food restaurant and the atmosphere was not comfortable at all . The final straw was when a couple arrived and the waitress told them loudly in front of us that this was there table and we would be going in two minutes !! This was at 1955 , we had expected to have the table for another 30 mins .
Overall the experience was very unpleasant and I am sorry to say I will not be returning or recommended Bibis to anyone … very sad indeed .

I really hate to do this review, but I feel it’s my duty to tell people what a nose dive this restaurant has done. Me and my husband took my son out for a meal for his birthday. Every year we go to Bibi’s, but hadn’t been for the last 2 years due to the pandemic. This restaurant used to be amazing. I’m from Texas and it was the closest thing to authentic that I’ve tasted since moving here.
Now… I’m not sure if The restaurant has changed hands or something as I don’t think the (new) chef, owner/manager or waiting staff have actually seen, taste, smelled or cooked Mexican/tex mex in their life! I ordered the “sizzling” steak fajitas. I got bell peppers in what tasted like ol’ Elpaso mix you get out the box, and a greasy soggy steak, medium rare (gristle and all) literally cut into strips. No sizzle, or anything that even resembled fajitas. Confused, I asked the waitress what was going on with these so called fajitas?! Also… No guacamole, just cheese? And sour cream. The salsa had zero taste and was watery. The only thing that was good xwas the desert and latte. Also I’ve read other reviews mentioning the loud, abrupt older lady who seated us de by. Well I second that. The whole experience was rubbish. Bibi’s im So sad to say, We won’t be back.

The food was awful it was exactly like an Old El Paso dinner kit, the fries where the kind you buy frozen in a supermarket, the portions where also pretty small. The environment wasn’t very welcoming and the waitress ignored us, only time she didn’t was when it we asked for the bill. This wasn’t a big issue for me but it was pretty cold in the restaurant it seems the heating wasn’t turned on. Save your money and skip this place.

We've been to Bibis often over the years. Our most recent visit was really disappointing. We arrived a little early, probably 8 mins or so and we're told they weren't ready for us (the restaurant was half full) and directed to wait outside in the cold.
The table we sat at had a view right into the kitchen. The chefs spoke loudly the whole time we were there including a discussion about a bleeding wound that required stitches! Not what you want to hear while eating your meal.
Our drinks were warm and the margaritas are not what they used to be. The waitress leaned over our table to light candles on a shelf above us while we were eating our main course. It was very awkward. The waitress and chef had a disagreement about who was passing by the tables in the very small space. Again very awkward right beside our table.
The food was bland and far from the flavoursome Mexican tastes we'd experienced at Bibis in the past. No guacamole, tortilla chips or salsa with any courses. Every single plate that arrived had a handful of rocket on the plate as the side. The chicken in the chicken quesadillas was hard to find. The fish tacos had no flavour and the smallest piece of fish in each. It was so disappointing.
Unfortunately, we won't be back.

This was one of the most awful places I have eaten at. The main reason was the attitude and sheer rudeness of the older waitress which made us all feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. When asking nicely to clarify certain things in the menu we were spoken to like idiots and there is only so much sarcasm you can take from a person. Also when ordering certain things from the menu it almost felt as if she wanted me to change my mind and made what I wanted sound disgusting. I have never been spoken to in such a rude way constantly by a waitress ever and even when clearing up the tables she was so disrespectful when asking me to hand her the plates. To top it off the food was rubbish too. The cheese croquettes were just mashed potato in breadcrumbs and the fajitas came luke warm and tasteless. Drinks were warm and we had to ask for ice several times to cool them down. We will never be returning to this place, mainly because of the attitude and disrespect shown to paying customers by this older waitress.

First time visiting Bibi’s after many conversations with friends about how great it was, with some dubbing it the “Best Mexican in Glasgow”. After our visit, I agree. Nice table for two in the window and served with complimentary chips and salsa and a welcome sipping drink upon seating, nice touch.
We ordered from the early bird menu; starter of quesadillas was excellent before a filling portion of delicious chicken fajitas. Partner had the veggie option, both were good sized portions with plenty of cheese and sauces to accompany.
Margaritas were out of this world, worth trying all the flavours to find your favourite.
We were looked after very well by our host on the evening (apologies, I cannot remember her name!). Overall a great visit, will definitely be back.

This restaurant has been a firm favourite of mine for over a decade. I have raved about this place to friends and family, never having anything negative to say about it until now. We had a table booked for last night, on arrival we were notified that they could only accept cash. Our meal had been a Christmas gift so we had vouchers which wasn’t a big deal for us but can see how it might be an issue for some people (nothing on social media to advise cash only). We were seated at our table to our complimentary chips and dip, a nice touch that I have enjoyed on previous occasions with a complementary shot of margarita which I am guessing they no longer offer (cost of living maybe) We waited some 15 minutes before our drinks order being taken, another 5/10mins later our food order was taken at which time we advised no pulled pork and no cheesecake. Another table of two were seated next to us, their food order was taken at the same time and they were served their starters and mains in time with ours despite arriving some 20-30mins after us. The restaurant was busy, it always is but the service has always been great regardless. There was three waiting staff but only one seemed to be waiting the tables, one on drinks and the other I am not sure what they were doing. We struggled to get the staffs attention for another round of drinks, expecting a check back with the starter. Our mains were cleared and we waited for the desert menu, the table next to us were offered but they asked for the bill and left. Next thing my partner was handed the bill, I would have just left saying nothing but when he asked to see desert menu we were rudely advised the table was required back within 1hr 30 as they had back to back bookings. While I appreciate at the time of booking the 1 hr 30 was highlighted however I have never been unable to have three courses at this restaurant within this time frame. Maybe if the service had not been slow my partner and I would have been able to enjoy the three course meal we had planned. I cannot fault the meal, the food has always been great but the service was a major let down. Sad to say I won’t be hurrying back.

We've developed a habit of being too busy at the weekends to eat at the right time. It was 4pm and we were hankering after some lunch. Being in Partick, we sought out the cover of Bibis (it was pouring with rain). We were made welcome and a table was made ready for us. Very cosy, friendly and warm. I liked it immediately! Stuffed Jalapenos to start (not as spicy as I expected) and then some enchiladas, in a wonderfully rich tomato sauce, which was both smokey and fresh at the same. It tasted as if were made just that minute, in fact it probably was. We had a wonderful dessert, cinnamon nachos with ice cream. Out of this world. If you do fancy going, make sure you book, as I've tried to get in since, off the cuff, it's always busy. That's surely a good sign.
