We dined here as a group of 5 and we all had delicious main courses and desserts! There was also a good selection of wine and beer, the guys were spoilt for choice. The service was great, the waitresses are very friendly and efficient! Would certainly be back next time visiting Aviemore. The only reason I haven't given a 5... More

I had good meal here the previous year and after my latest visit would definitely go back again. This time I had lamb shank, mash and grilled cauliflower, accompanied with a flavoursome glass of Cairngorm Brewery brew. The haggis starter was also tasty with very crunchy batter . A satisfying and enjoyable meal at a reasonable price. The overall food... More

Visited this restaurant on 23rd March after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. Not sure the overall ratings are justified. I will start with the service. I did not feel that the waitresses were attentive enough although they did ask if everything was fine but by this time I had mentioned that particular point and the rest of my party agreed.... More

We recently stayed in Dulnain Bridge and came into Aviemore for dinner. We both had the beef pie and it was just delicious and is, I believe, their signature dish although we didn't know this when we ordered. Would definitely go back next time we're in the area. Service was really good and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

We were 4 having lunch at the Winking Owl. Service was friendly, a good selection of beers and a sensibly sized menu. Between us we had 2 venison, 1 beef pie and 1 fish, all excellent. Bill for 4 main course, 8 drinks plus coffees was approx £100. Decent value for good quality.

We have recently had 5 days in Aviemore and came across The Winking Owl on our first evening there. We were met with a welcome and were made to feel very comfortable whilst we sat by the bar even though we were not eating. Ashley, the barman, led us through the delights of all the local gins and local beers.To... More

Had tea at the winking owl on Saturday, which was lovely. and after enquiring how much a taxi would be back to Kingussie so I could decide if I wanted to have a drink or not. The waitress Kate kindly offered to take us back when it shut. And even didn't want to accept a tip for her trouble. Something... More

Evening meal for two. Cullen skink very tasty and enjoyable despite fish being overlooked. Beef and mushroom pie also much niceness! Bit dry inside though with gravy poured over top of pie. Perhaps if crust had been cracked a bit before pouring this would have made it juicier inside. Still very nice food though and at a very competitive price.... More

We had dinner here during a short stay in Aviemore, I had venison steak and my fiancee good old fish n'chips, both helped down by a couple of local ales. The meal was well prepared and very tasty. Service was also good and the staff friendly.
