Booked a table before hand which I recommend doing as it can get quite busy. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We have eaten at a few places in Inverness and the food is better here.

We had been informed by a local in another village that this pub was only one in town now that The Glen Affric Hotel was knocked down(horrified to hear this since we used to frequent it’s pub/restaurant when we came up for holidays at Shenval)...We decided to go in for a drink on our way back from Loch Affric on our bikes one evening & were pleasantly surprised by how nice the owner was behind the bar…..so much so that drinks turned into dinner and what a yummy meal it was…..all home-cooked & bill not too expensive at end of night. Fabulous old pics on pub walls of the dam builders from 1949(which is how Cannich town came about to house them all)& the shinty teams of old inc the local chap who invented this dangerous but great game!More
Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had. If you’re not eating you’re not drinking. We visited for a week and on the second night at 8:30 Mr personality the suspected owner replied to our request for a 3rd drink with sorry lad you’re the only...2 in we’re closing. ‘Lad’ I’m 57. I wouldn’t give them another penny of my cash if I was dying of dehydration. In short abysmal service in a dump of a pub.More
Read the reviews on TA for this establishment, all we can say is we are glad we ignored the low reviews. Beer choice was excellent and well kept, the food was first class as were the young waiting team and the guy behind the bar....Give it a try with an open mind, you will not be disappointedMore
The perfect place to enjoy drinks and an evening meal. The setting is tranquil and relaxed. The hosts were very friendly and made us and our two Cocker Spaniels feel so welcome. In fact our dogs didn’t want to leave Food was of a good...standard - simple pub food but with good quality ingredients and cooked to a high standard. Try the Greek Salad it was excellent, the homemade pie was also superbMore
The food was so delicious. I could have eaten the chilli a million times over. Lovely worth a trip to cannich for this
I don’t often leave reviews, but I think there is a need for some balance. We’ve had drinks and a meal at the Slaters Arms over two nights. Guess what? No issues whatsoever. Staff were friendly and even gave us tips on where to walk...and the local sights. Please be kind with your reviews. The hospitality industry has had an incredibly challenging time and the people serving you, are doing their best. Well done to the team at the Slaters Arms and thanks for the craic. Oh, by the way, the steak was fantastic 🥩👍!More
I’m a regular visitor to Cannich as I have a caravan based there. Every time I visit I always have the pleasure of spending time in the Slaters Arms. The owners Scott and Angela are fantastic hosts and take time to talk to you and...especially your dog if you have one ! The beer selection is first class as they have many Glen Affric craft ales. We have had a few meals recently and they were amazing. Starters and mains tasty home cooked food. Can recommend the Chilli dip starter and Korean rice dish. So if you are in the area pay a visit. 👍More
Had a fabulous meal here while on holiday with friends. The food is fantastic and real value for money. Had a wonderful evening sitting out on the decking. Dog friendly and the owners and staff were so welcoming and kind. If you are in Cannich...then it is a must to visit. Sirloin steak and pepper corn sauce was amazing.More
We walked into the Slaters Arms at about 7pm and were met with a very rude manager. He told us we wouldn't eat before half an hour. We said with a smile that would be fine. We'd have a glass of wine. He didn't offer...to serve us. He just said it would be another hour. We said fine. We'll have a drink please. He just ignored us. The restaurant was half full, if that. He was very rude and unwelcoming. I would not recommend. Go to Tomich Hotel. Good food. Very welcomingMore
Strange atmosphere, staff very stuck in their own ways and unable to adjust. I was met with a very frosty welcoming as I hadn’t booked a table which made me feel quite awkward, even though the place was empty. Food wasn’t bad to be fair....Just a few people skills in order.More
Classic (in) hospitality. Big sign on door saying no use of toilets for non customers. I asked if I could use the loos if I paid and was told yes. So I went to order a drink at the bar and was then told no...card transactions under £10. Ten pounds to spend a penny seemed a bit steep...I'm sure they are lovely people really when you get to know them.More
Terrible service, took ages for anyone to come and seat us. There seems to be more dogs than patrons in the place, a small herd of dogs can be seen playfighting whilst you "enjoy" your dinner. Told the waitress that my dinner was of a...poor standard and she "fair enough". She then left us and we were not even told how to pay for our meal , told the person taking the money that I wouldn't have fed that to my dog but I guess he had selective hearing. AVOID!More
Wouldn't recommend this place, I wouldn't fed it to my dog! Mentioning dogs ones coming into the restaurant, the place stinks of dog! Staff not very polite 🙄 and not much communication at all .
Great food nice beer very nice owners they took time for a chat would recommend the fish and chip steak pie and the burgers 9 of us had food and drink and not one problem it was fantastic. We all also stayed in two of...the three lodges at the rear of the pub well priced fantastic view quite comfortable free view tv ideal for a family who wants to go sight seeing you must have a car as things are a car drive away but you expect that. all in all great stay don't be put off by extra cost of electricity as we stayed for a week in April it was cool some days outside. heating on when we were in all cooking and hot water £30 for the week and the lodge was well priced as wellMore
