We ate at the Holborn Hotel the most during our stay in Thurso. The menu was excellent, lots of choices and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended.

Restaurant was on the recommended places to eat at the guest house we were staying at. The food was really good, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Couldn't ask for much more.

There was a very friendly warm welcome from the male server on the busy night we visited. He was only too pleased to fit us in despite being rushed off his feet with his colleague. Food was hearty and tasty - good value. All in...all this is a good recommendation in a town where really decent food options are limited. Compliments all round, especially the hard working front of house staff.More

We came here to eat as the reviews seemed the best in Thurso. We were hugely disappointed. The food was greasy and overpriced, as two people who always clear our plates, we left nearly half of our meals. Our server asked us if the music...was too loud, and when we asked if it could be turned down we were told at this point on a Friday evening it’s turned up. So what was the point in asking us? I ordered fajitas, and the sauces all came in tiny plastic pots, the sour cream tasted off, and the guacamole tasted like paint remover. The Diet Coke I ordered tasted damp and watery- the only passable thing was the jalapeño poppers. It wasn’t worth the money, I’d find anywhere else to eat.More

Service: Didn’t get the waitresses name, but despite being fairly busy with just herself on, was friendly and quick. Food: Food was absolutely fantastic and a real surprise!

Visited with a bunch of work colleagues, the staff were friendly and the food (and wine) was good, will definitely go again.

We ordered tempura prawns followed by fish and chips. The batter on the prawns was ordinary thick batter and over cooked. The result was the prawns were rubbery and difficult to eat. The haddock was good but the chips were of the frozen variety and not...too warm and were tasteless. The coffee was good. Won’t be back soon.More

We came here as the reviews were quite good. We ordered & paid via their app... oh dear what a BIG mistake. The Cullen skink was like warm milk with some potato thrown in. The salt & pepper squid was quite tasty but only 4...squid rings for £5.95. We ate it because we were hungry but defo won’t return. This place has the potential to be really amazing but it’s just lacking in flair. Sorry guys 🤦‍♀️More

We had some salt and pepper squid, a lobster dish (was a bit over cooked) and Teo of us had scampi. Food was fine just average nothing to shout about. The Covid precautions of ordering and paying on your phone on each order placed made...it very impersonal but I guess it’s one way of doing it. Wish we had gone to Bydand again instead!More
