Managed to get a table for Hogmanay at the Lime Tree. It was a six course menu for £50pp. Lovely amuse bouche and a kir royale cocktail on arrival. We were seated in a room just off the main room with 3 other tables, so felt a bit out of it, as the other room was really busy, but the... More

We had an unplanned stay in Fort William waiting for a train and chaced upon The Lime Tree where we sat in The Map room lounge and were served with tea and shortbread biscuits. Looking at the menu and the fabulous gallery of art and crafts we realised we had stumbled onto a gem. The staff were smiley and speaking... More

Walked here from the wonderful hotel the Grange so were already in very good spirits before enjoying a delicious meal and wine. Worth paying for, very much enjoyed the food and the ambiance.

The food superb, the belly pork was second to none, full of flavour. Service was also excellent and overall it was a very enjoyable evening.

We did not have a reservation and they were still kind enough to seat us later that evening even though it is small and busy. The food was delicious and staff were very pleasant. Definately dine there, but make reservations. You may not get lucky as we did.

While not cheap you pay for what you get in that food is top rate (venison was perfect)and very tasty, definitely one of the best places to eat in fort william but over five pounds for a bottle of beers is a bit steep.

Description
The food philosophy at the Lime Tree is that dishes are made here from fresh, seasonal, locally sourced raw ingredients, then made into something special by our skilled innovative Chef team

'The Lime Tree Restaurant style is one we have come to know as Fiddly Posh Scottish: Lamb with a family tree, duck that went to Gordonstoun, fish that kept its nose clean. All this technically superb, and while served in a part of the country not blessed with an abundance of fine dining, nonetheless worthy of comparison with the cities best. Fort William finally has a heavy-weight culinary destination.'
