Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had lovely sandwiches and drinks. Very good quality but expensive. The location is fabulous and has a great atmosphere and lovely staff.

My wife and I called in for breakfast recently. We have been to Weavers a number of times before but have been a little underwhelmed in recent months. However, the breakfast menu seemed very enticing - unfortunately that’s where it stopped. I ordered the full breakfast and was very disappointed. For £14.95, I expected a pretty substantial breakfast, but was greeted with a single sausage, 1 1/2 rashers of bacon, one egg, a small slice of black pudding, a piece of tattie scone, a small container of baked beans and a single slice of toast. Stingy doesn’t really describe it fully. That quantity alone was bad, let alone no mushrooms or tomatoes. A coffee was included too, but in no way compensated for the poor meal. Overall, it represented extremely poor value, especially when there are other local restaurants offering better breakfasts for less money. Feedback was given to the staff at the time, so this is not a faceless critique. Regrettably, we will not be returning anytime soon.

The restaurant is well furnished, clean and the menu itself looks very inviting. The staff, very friendly and helpful. I have been here once or twice before, for lunch and for afternoon post tour of the factory. However, this time, visiting for breakfast with my family I was very disappointed with the breakfast. For the price of £15 for a full cooked breakfast I was expecting a bit more. While the meat was quite tasty, the plate felt very empty, they used toast and a fattier scone (undercooked) to help fill it. And even then it still looked bare. I’m not sure I would go here again. For the same price, you can get a great breakfast at 2019 cafe, Lossiemouth.

My husband and I popped in for some lunch today.Which we thoroughly enjoyed.Staff were lovely and attentive. I bought some scones to take home. Six in total the fruit scones and orange and cranberry scones were I'm afraid very disappointing.Due to the lack of fruit they were sadly lacking. There was only the bare minimum.P Please if your going to charge 2 pounds 75 Pence per scone you must give value for money. Really enjoyed our meal of gammon and all the trimmings. We were £20 per person for meal, soft drink & a coffee . Coffees are lovely smooth tasting. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our only negative point was really about the other rude entitled customers who queue jumped when we were waiting both to wait for a table and then again when we went to pay . The system was a bit awkward as the paying point and checking in pount are next to one another and caused confusion both times - can this point be merged into one queue?

We dine in Weavers several times a week and have never been disappointed. Some of the reviews have been quite brutal and need addressing. Over the last few months the restaurant has been through some turmoil, staffing levels front and back of house in line with the rest of the UK hotel and catering industry. There is a new menu coming in the next couple of weeks. Our food and level of service has always been first class. Tempura Prawns are superb as is the soap and a sandwich combination. All the soaps are homemade and lovely and thick not like some who serve watered down versions. The world seems to be full of complainers, reviews stating that the staff were run off their feet and wait times for meals. All the sympathy then followed by a slating review. I know the plenty customers where given massive discounts or free meals to compensate for the situation at the time. All the staff front and back of house are superb but every so often they are caught out by a massive influx of customers. Having to wait for freshly cooked meals is a good thing over the ding ding microwaved meals served elsewhere. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

The food was lovely, I had a prawn sandwich. However the service wasn’t good. I had to wait ages for my drink, which was just a tea. My food came out first and I was left waiting for another 15 mins for my drink, which only then came because I told 2 members of staff that I was still waiting. No one came to ask me if my food was ok. And no one came to clear my plate after I had finished. I sat there for half an hour after I had finished and no one came. Lots of dirty tables left around me as well which isn’t nice. They could be short staffed, so it’s not the waitress’ fault, but if that’s the case then the company needs to look at getting more staff.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea with my mum and dad. Things were a little chaotic to start with as after we were all settled at our table they decided to move us as they said there wouldn't be room for our food, they knew we had booked afternoon tea so why hadn't we been put on the right table to start with. When I booked the afternoon tea I requested 2 vegetarian and 1 Salmon, cream cheese, I also highlighted the need for clotted cream as being very important as you can't have afternoon tea without it. All came as requested and the choice of little cakes was brilliant. This is the second afternoon tea I have had at weavers and both times have been fantastic. Can't wait for the next opportunity to have an afternoon tea here.

Felt I needed to share my experience me and 2 friends had at the Weavers Resturant in Johnstons of Elgin. We were pleasantly surprised with the level of service , quality of food and the whole experience. We had one of there high teas with a range of sandwiches and cakes. We left full and completely satisfied. Highly recommend this restaurant 👌 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is an attractively laid out restaurant contained within Johnstons Wool Mill. There is a varied lunch menu plus a specials board and also a soup and sandwich combo which I opted for. Prices were reasonable, service from the two members of staff that I encountered was quick and friendly and most importantly, lunch was delicious.
