Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good tearoom and served freshly baked gluten free scones. Yum!! Friendly staff, nice hot coffee. Didn’t visit the gift shop but looked good.

Went here today with my friend Jackie. What a lovely cafe. Lovely staff and spotlessly clean. We only had 2 delicious cheese scone and 2 latte's ..I'm addicted to cheese scones and have never been disappointed yet. I highly recommend this Cafe 👌

Ordered two avocado and poached eggs on toast, one with black pudding extra. Managed to eat the black pudding and egg yolks but that was about it. A piece of sourdough (?) toast covered in sharp tasting avocado, topped with two eggs that neither looked...poached nor fried - something in between? Egg whites looked grey and gelatinous and not at all pleasant. For balance, we were only charged for the drinks.More

I have been coming here once a week to meet my friend once a week for a catch up and a cuppa! The waiting staff are lovely and very friendly and obliging. I recommend the Strawberry Tea which is a choice of scone with butter...and a wee jar of Tiptree jam and a hot drink from the menu, I really look forward to my weekly visit and I recommend this cafe as the breakfasts are lovely too with all sorts of combinations from sourdough and avocado to more traditional filled rolls.More

Would highly recommend a visit here. It’s a beautiful cafe, very airy and bright and under unusual circumstances it is well equipped with screen etc, staff wear masks. It is a very safe feeling environment to eat. They have taken all the steps to make...it feel safe and I will be visiting again next week. I visited with a friend, “mac and cheese toastie” was the special which my friend had and I have to say it did look amazing! I opted for the vegetable broth. The soup was really good and the brown bread on the side was very fresh and very tasty.More

Me and my mum absoultely loved the cafe! The staff were really polite and the food was great. The only issue with this cafe though is the fact that it is quite expensive

After visiting the Hospital, my wife and I (mainly me) were a bit peckish and some welcomed advice led us here. As you entered, you were directed through the main shop (which was quite niche actually). It's possibly best described as an extensive card shop...with unique gifts and jewellery - a lot of which is manufactured by local businesses. For the cafe itself, you needed to climb one floor up the stairs located at the rear of the premises. The cafe boasted fairly comfortable seating and a decent menu. The 'Vegetarian' options (I felt) were a little bit overlooked but I found a 'Panini' nonetheless (please see the photograph). It was great and the sides were a worthy accompaniment. My wife had a 'Coca Cola' and I had a 'Latte' which were both good. The 'Rolo Cake', which came as part of a meal deal, was tasty but very dry. The staff were accommodating throughout and the overall cost was £11.20 - not too expensive by all accounts. I can confidently say that we would both come back to sample something different on the menu.More

My husband and I went for lunch. It was busy but we managed to get a table. You are spoilt for choice! They have 2 soups, sandwiches, panini, baked potatoes, quiches, toastie, puddings and cakes. Plenty hot and cold drinks. We had lentil soup (it...was lovely!) Then we had pear crumble and custard. Cant fault anything. Would definately recommend a visit. We will certainly be going back. The staff are lovely and friendly. Good value for money.More

I went to the cafe this afternoon for my "fly cup". The cakes looked nice and so many to choose from. My aunt and grandma had scones and they had a little jar of jam. They loved their scones, and I also had a pot...of Earl Gray tea, which did a cup and a half. Would go there again.More

Our first visit here. We parked opposite Tesco, near M&S, for £2.50 for 3 hours. There's also an electric vehicle charging station there too. A couple of minutes walk to Bijou, upstairs for lunch, with our friends. Quick, welcoming, smiley, capable staff took our orders,...which arrived quickly (considering that it was packed). Surroundings immaculate, as were the toilets. My panini light lunch was lovely. A fine ambience. Downstairs there's a lovely shop to look around afterwards.More
