Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ignored by the manager. Plane disregard for customers. In here all the time and this is the 1st time in years I have been very unhappy with the service. They could really use a new manager she is very rude and doesn't like to interact...with customers.More

Elgin is so lucky to have one of the better Weatherspoons establishments. For atmosphere, ambiance, service, friendly service and amazing value it truly is top of the league. Extensive menu selection, promptly served, unlimited hot drinks in a spacious, comfortable, unhurried well kept area, what...more could you wish for. Weatherspoons get a lot of undeserved knocks online from keyboard warriors, but they don’t need to worry, they are more than capable of rising above it all. Pay a visit and enjoy !More

Big Wetherspoons fans from Cornwall to Scotland for many years. Excellent curry and scampi meals followed by tasty desserts, prompt service, well presented and excellent value from Drew and the team in this clean and tidy pub.. Mr & Mrs Elliott

This was our first visit to the Muckle Cross for a number of years. It has a central location and has roughly the same layout as other Wetherspoons we have visited. There is a wide-ranging, reasonably priced menu with several special offers. Today's offer was...on curries, and my wife and I opted for two curries, which came with nan bread, poppadoms, and a choice of hot, soft or alcoholic drinks at a slightly higher cost. The total bill came to just under £18 which was very reasonable. We placed our order at the bar, and our meal came fairly quickly. Service was friendly, and we both enjoyed our lunch.More

Wow!!! Absolutely vile. I ordered an American burger and chips. Shocked at the size of portion. Tiny!! Bun dry, burger burnt and cold, chips a handful of which were cold. Vile to say the least.

Good value. Were there on a Curry night. Portion size was fine, though food could have been hotter-just lukewarm. Place could also have been warmer. Service was fine. Couldn't expect more from a Wetherspoons.

Went for lunch. Sat in a booth to start with and ordered our food. Then my husband realised the seat was wet so we had to move to another table. Food was good. The place was absolutely baltic.

Our first meal in here in a very long time. We were delighted. Food was excellent, service good with happy looking staff. Obviously Weatherspoons prices, so a good deal but genuinely a really lovely meal.

The table was dirty with food particles, wet, a dirty cloth and spray bottle plus about 10 menus scattered on the table. We cleaned the table as best as we could. I ordered at the bar as I was having issues with the newly loaded...app. The Tika masala curry came quickly. The knife and fork were not clean and I got them exchanged at the bar. Another customer told me this is what you have to expect at Wetherspoons. The curry was OK. After 15 minutes the same person who served the food asked if everything was OK I said no as I had to exchange the knife and Fork. Reply was “oh so you had a grubby Knife and Fork?” I said also we had to clean the table before we could sit down. “Well you picked a dirty table!” Then she turned her back to me raised her arms towards the ceiling and went outside to send some texts on her phone. We used to be regulars at the Elgin Wetherspoons, but then the service started to slip and orders had to be sent back. We didn’t go there for years and now we find it is even worse. We have been to other Wetherspoons at Inverurie, and two in Aberdeen, one in Warrington and another in Peterhead without any issue, albeit that was a few years ago. The management need to privately take a close look at the Elgin Branch, like the Secret boss series. I am sure there will be more revelations. Cleanliness and Service should be paramountMore

Ordered a Scottish breakfast and scrambled eggs on toast, this was just after 9am on a Tuesday morning and the restaurant was quiet. Food took about 20 minutes to arrive. The Scottish breakfast had no fried egg, I let a staff member know and a...couple of minutes later they brought me one, I took a piece of bacon and it was really cold, not even slightly warm. I went to the bar to let them know, it was taken away and at least another 20 minutes passed before another breakfast was brought. Was the same breakfast as the sauce on the beans was dried up. Was warm but no idea why it took 20 minutes to microwave it which they clearly done. No apology offered at any time. I have used this establishment many times but won't be again.More
