I don’t usually leave reviews but this place deserves it.
A table of two, two mains, two sauces, one side and two drinks, close to £60.
Fine happy to pay that for good food which this place is meant to be.
Restaurants small and cosy,...intimate however there’s two tables of two placed just at the pass at the kitchen and right in front of the till, tables basically touching each other. I think these tables were an afterthought compared to the rest of the restaurant.
Ordered drinks and they came quickly, I got a milkshake and it was all spilling down the sides of the glass when I picked it up my hand was covered in it, to be fair to the girl serving I think she seen the look on my face and me reaching straight for a napkin and offered me another napkin as soon as she noticed.
Food came, there’s two cheese sauces advertised. A cheddar cheese sauce and a Dorito heatwave cheese sauce. Cheddar cheese sauce is overpowered by the mustard in it. all you can taste from it. The Dorito cheese sauce is the same mustardy sauce with a wee sprinkle of Doritos on top. Nothing chilli heatwave about it. When two separate sauces are getting sold I’d at least expect them to be completely different to each other not the exact same apart from a wee sprinkle of crisps.
Got a skyscraper burger and pizza loaded fries. Came to the table looked amazing. Unfortunately that’s where the good stuff ends, pizza fries say chorizo, tomato sauce and mozzarella on the menu or something like that, what came was a tomato sauce with wee bits of chorizo diced through it, not separate items as the menu suggests. So the tomato sauce was no longer a tomato sauce just tasted of chorizo. If I’d have known this I would have left ordering them as I’m not a massive fan of chorizo but was fine when i was thinking it would be slices like you would get on a pizza, Dissapointing.
The actual burgers are absolutely rubbish. For the price you would think it would be handmade in house from mince from a butcher adding your own seasoning and stuff. These were just butcher special burgers, tough, tasteless and badly cooked. My partner was laughing because the best way I could describe them to her was crunchy. So if you want a crunchy cheap burger this is the place for you.
The other main was a Cajun chicken burger was the same looked good. Not disappointing though as they’d used breast of chicken and seasoned themselves. Cooked nicely.
Anyway as you can see from the review I’d never be back just from that burger alone if that’s what your happy serving for the price your charging you need to have a long hard look in the mirror, you’d be far cheaper to make your burgers in house rather then paying the money to whoever supplied them because they are so bad.
That burger and your sauces have let down the place because the staff themselves were cheery and all seemed happy to be at work which is hard to find when eating out.More
