Visited this restaurant for the first time today with a friend and her young son.
The food was excellent and served quicker than expected. The waitress and other staff were first class and interacted with my friend's son in a very friendly way.
There was also no rush from the staff to have us leave once we'd finished.
The facilities were excellent and very clean and hygienic. My friend was also able to change her son in the baby changing area with no issues.
Meal was priced well and good value for money. Will definitely be returning when I'm in Irvine.
Ideal location too as 2-3 minute walk from the train station.

Went to Niche for lunch on Sunday afternoon.
Handwash was situated next to door and we were quickly shown to our table - all nicely distanced.
Wide range on menu and service was spot on.
Food was all very tasty and was good value ( albeit my chicken tempura became vegetable tempura 😉)
Would certainly recommend and look forward to next visit

I really enjoyed lunch at The Niche. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive despite how busy the restaurant was during out visit. Service was quick and our waiter very helpful answering any questions about the menu etc.
Our food arrive quickly, was well cooked and the portions were more than generous. Everything was very good and my entire party were very complimentary about the food.
I advise booking a table in advance as we saw several disappointed groups being turned away while we were there.
On the COVID front all the usual precautions are in place, and the staff maintained good social distancing despite the size of the restaurant.

Very disappointed, I have loved much for a long time till yesterday. The staff is usually very happy but yesterday was different and I felt non welcome at all. The philly steak toasted was without flavor. My smoothy was plain no sugar. But my skinny fries were very good.
I used to like their salmon dish but don’t do it anymore.

Went to niche for a lunch with friends having been fooled with all the reviews they keep sharing on Facebook. Once arrived they asked us to sit outside in outdoor area was fine for us we went to take our seats and the area was absolutely filthy not a great impression.
We asked to just wait and eat inside eventually got taken inside.
The staff were friendly enough and decent service but I think the food let the place down big time 3 mains & 3 drinks we were over £60
Rice overcooked , burger was pretty dense & wasn’t juicy at all.
All 3 of us were sadly disappointed with the below average food.
Inside the restaurant was actually clean & looked good , please get your outside area cleaned up its Mocket
Sad to say we wouldn’t go back

Been 4 times and won’t be back. Each time I have gone, I’ve ordered something different but I’ve been disappointed every time. Going by the reviews, I’ve persevered but it’s not improved. Greasy pasta swimming in oil, salad with no dressing and a supposed bean chilli which was kidney beans in chopped tomatoes (without the slightest hint of chilli). Every meal I’ve had has been disappointing.

Ordered takeaway few weeks ago. Chose vegan option. They called me 15 mins before to say the option wasn’t vegan. Chose tempura. Given a slot to collect but turned up had to stand around the restaurant waiting for 10 minutes whilst folk were dining. You pay the same price to dine in and be served as you do for takeaway. Cauliflower starter had 3 bite size pieces of cauliflower for over £6. The tempura was not light and airy, it was chewy and the batter was dark. Vegan burger was nothing special. Have had issues with their menus before, things marked vegetarian or vegan when they were in fact not.
However, staff are friendly and some dishes are nice. I’m just now put off for paying £60 for three meals and a few starters to eat at home that weren’t good at all.

We were drawn to The Niche by the interesting choice of additions to a burger - I would never have thought of adding mac n cheese but I loved it! The Skyscraper went down well with my husband too. Having read about their reputation for cheesecakes, we decided to try the Galaxy caramel and that definitely didn't disappoint even though we were both stuffed as portions were very generous!!!! It was a great meal in an informal relaxed atmosphere and very good value, especially the cocktails. Loved it!

I've been to Niche a few times in the past but this was the first in a year or so..
There were 4 of us for dinner and I genuinely can't fault it, I had the Dorito heatwave burger one went for a philly cheese steak and the others opted for mac & cheese.
Everyone really enjoyed there's and the portion sizes were just right.
The staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly, the decor is modern and clean and although fairly small inside you don't feel crammed in at all.
All together we had 4 beers 2 soft drinks and 4 main courses, the bill came to £72 which I think is very good value for 4 people.

Understated, you’d be forgiven for driving past, but you shouldn’t. It’s small inside but the lighting and decor is subtle and our table felt private despite there being a party of 3 across from us. From the vast menu I opted for the vegetarian breakfast; my plate came loaded with eggs, toast, beans, veggie sausages and hummus, and it was both delicious and filling! For my wife it was eggs on toast - a classic - and she was not disappointed; a couple of perfectly cooked eggs on thick-sliced toast. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was prompt.
Irvine’s harbour is bustling with choices, but I already know where we’ll be heading the next time we’re there.
Do yourself a favour if you haven’t already, visit The Niche.

First time at Niche. Booked family of 5 to celebrate anniversary. Staff all friendly pleasant & efficient. Place lovely & clean. Toilets immaculate. All very important in these times of covid. Now onto the food. All mains chosen were great quality, well cooked, generous portions well presented.we were presented with complementary dessert platter which was a delicious & lovely surprise. We couldn't finish them all so they put rest in a box to take with us. Finished off with some of us having lovely cocktails whilst one of us had an Irish coffee. A really enjoyable evening . Thank you to all the staff. We will definately return. Big thank you.

Having travelled from Devon for work myself and colleges were happy to find this wonderful wee restaurant.
We were welcomed on our first night here having not booked and sat outside which was fine.
Service from the restaurant staff was very attentive and professional.
Menu choices were very good and very reasonably priced.
Onto the food and what can I say.
It was excellent well presented hot tasty food that the chefs had taken time to prepare and cook with passion.
We enjoyed it so much we booked and ate here for a total of 7 out of 14 nights each time we were warmly welcomed were never rushed to eat our meals and every meal we had was superb 3 courses each time. Highly recommend the satay chicken starter and any of the burgers and also the chocolate fudge cake best ever. Thank you to all the team at this lovely restaurant for your hospitality while we were working away. Anyone that lives in Irvine and hasn't been yet do so I don't think you'll be disappointed. 👍🍻 The autoglass boys

Somewhat disappointing breakfast experience. My own standard breakfast was passable but my wife complained of the pancakes with berries (cold and very dry) and the coffee was not the warmest either. A noisy dog of the couple at the next table was continuously irritating

Take away service from Niche was tip top. We arrived 15 mins early and they brought out our order under 5 mins.
Food was very nice, packaged up very well in great wee corrugated cardboard eating boxes.
Will definitely return soon.

We decided to visit based on the good reviews on here. I opted for the salt and chilli burger and side of loaded fries. I was disappointed when the burger arrived as it was not what I expected. It was a sweet chilli burger as opposed to salt n chilli. I hardly ate any of it. The waitress came to collect plates and asked if everything was alright. She went to speak to chef who said that's how they do it. I expected that there may have been a reduction based on the fact I hardly ate any of it. I was not offered an alternative either. I'd suggest that it should be clear on menu that it is sweet chilli as that is very different to salt and chilli.
