A friend and I had lunch at The Roost yesterday following a search on Tripadvisor. It was superb. I have to admit to a few misgivings as we drove through the village from the M90 but suddenly there is this charming old building and from then on it was all a delight. We both had the cheese soufflé to start,... More

We went here with friends. The food was excellent. Each course a delight. I had lobster macaroni with a horseradish foam as a starter which was brilliant . Venison for the main, and biscuits and cheese for dessert. This was one of the best meals I've ever eaten and I will certainly be back. The service was extremely good, very... More

Have eaten here a few times and never fails to impress. Took our son last Friday for his 16th birthday and we all had the taster menu, it was superb , one of the best meals we have had and we have eaten in a few michelin star restuarants. Can't wait to back again.

First visit toThe Roost in Bridge of Earn this evening and it was a 1st class experience from beginning to end. The staff are excellent, beautiful environment and ambience and the food was out of this world. One of the best meals I have eaten. Well done to all. We shall return.

Wonderful Sunday lunch with our children today. Sea trout fishcake and soup to start followed by roast rib of beef with potatoes and seasonal veg. Orange Posset and dark plum tart tatin to finish. Every course was absolutely delicious and all plates were scraped clean. A snip too at £25.95 for 3 courses. Service was excellent also. Would highly recommend... More

The view from outside of the restaurant does not prepare you for the delights inside! Their menu might be restrictive but each course we chose last night was excellent in its quality of produce, presentation and above all taste! We opted for the Partridge and Scollops for our staters. Both were beautifully cooked and faultless. For the mains we chose... More

We have visited the roost before but haven't been for a while as it's about an hour from our house and we like a drink so can't drive often. We came here for my mums 60th lunch and the staff were so helpful and friendly with organising things like the cake etc. It's a small restaurant but it doesn't feel... More

We had wonderful Sunday Lunch here, the menu was short but had seasonal dishes which suited our party, The dishes were beautifully presented and garnished with fresh flowers and herbs. Service was relaxed but friendly. This restaurant deserves more accolades.

Description
Tim & Anna Dover work together at the restaurant, Anna is in charge of table service and Tim exercises his skills as Head Chef in the kitchen, and in his words..."My wife and I opened the Roost Restaurant in the village of Kintillo near Bridge of Earn, just outside Perth, in the summer of 2008. Five years on the restaurant is firmly established in the area and we are known for our extensive use of Scottish ingredients, which I prepare in the classical French style that I have learnt in kitchens at home and abroad throughout my career. We are proud of the strong relationships we have developed with Scottish food and drink suppliers and always produce a locally sourced, sustainable and seasonal menu. Our dedication doesn't end in the kitchen as we enjoy fishing and foraging for our own ingredients - including wild garlic, alexanders and chanterelles - many of which appear on the menus throughout the year. But nothing is more sustainable than our new kitchen garden that features vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant. Throughout the summer months we are able to use our own supply of herbs, salads and vegetables such as potatoes, chard, baby carrots, beetroots, leeks, broad beans and purple sprouting broccoli while flowers are also grown for the restaurant."
