Went here for lunch. Service was great. Starters were fine. Main cod fish was nice. Duck and Toulouse Sausage Cassoulet was very stogie. Glass of wine overpriced. Also noticed that the set menu had supplements for almost every dish which adds to the bill. All...in all for a two course meal and one glass of wine £60.00+ - not the best around I must say.More

Brilliant food and service! Cannot fault our experience here at all. The food was absolutely fantastic, good vegetarian options ( would revive the goats cheese salad) and effort put into the cocktails was great. Will definitely be back.

Treated ourselves to a wonderful lunch as our plans were cancelled by Storm Babet. What a treat! The food and service were excellent and we wish we lived closer, as we'd love to visit more regularly. Highly recommended

This was the second night eating out in Perth and we were looking forward to it to experience the Chateaubriand. When we arrived it was very crowded and the tables are close together, so not much room. After around 20 minutes a few tables finished...and there was more room around. Great service. Very attenuative and got the balance right in terms of chatting and time between coming to the table. Went straight for the main. Best Chateaubriand ever. The chips were first class. Red wine selection was good. Tried, what looked an interesting desert. Personally thought it was fantastic. Very creative. Had a long chat with the owner. Really good atmosphere and would certainly return if ever going to Perth again.More

Really nice meal, great food, great service, will definitely return. I had the snails to start and they were very nice with the garlic butter, then my main was the beef medallions, it came with lovely roasted veggies, and nice French fries, I whose the...blue cheese sauce, which was nice, my only comment would be a bit more sauce would have been nice. The waitress was lovely, really friendly and attentive, the bread & olives was nice. The ambiance was nice too, for a Tuesday it was quite busy which gave the restaurant a pleasant ambiance. I will definitely return to this restaurant next time I visit Perth.More

This is our favourite restaurant in Perth. Dined twice during our golf week and both did not disappoint. The quality of the food is fantastic and it has a lovely atmosphere in this restaurant. I can't recommend it enough. The chateau briand is second to...none!More

Recently went to Cafe Taboo for an evening with friends. It was one of their themed evenings, this one was for Game. The food was exceptional and was accompanied with wonderful wine and a talk about each wine from the supplier, that was very interesting....The Cafe was full, the atmosphere warm and friendly and the service was great. looking forward to the next one!More

It’s with a heavy heart I’m writing this as my rating of 2 stars doesn’t reflect the food. It was worthy of 5 stars We had an excellent meal tonight and the service was amazing I had a glass of wine that was priced at...£13.20 on the menu but was charged 14.90 on the bill and when I enquired they told me the bill was correct… I know it’s a small amount but it’s the principle and they seemed so dismissive of my query that left me feeling very disappointed ☹️ My tip is always 10%More

We were gifted a voucher for Cafe Tabou at our recent wedding and used it for a decadent lunch today. The set menu is really good value and has a good choice of dishes on it. We opted for the three cheese and onion risotto...and the medallions du boeuf, both of which were absolutely delicious - and huge portions. We actually couldn't finish our desserts but they were beautiful - raspberry mille feuile and crepé suzette. The restaurant is small and intimate with very discreet but friendly waiting staff. Just a couple of minor frustrations overall - the complimentary bread would have been nicer warmed and £3.40 for a small glass of fresh orange and lemonade is absolutely daylight robbery (I expected a pint at that price) but overall it was a truly lovely lunch.More
