It's only the lack of heating on a number of occasions which stops this getting a top score. You won't regret going for the quality, choice and presentation of the food but you won't linger long either because, yup, you guessed, its cold.

Was visiting Ayr for the weekend and came across this restaurant as it was next to our hotel. Checked trip advisor for reviews. Wasn’t sure about it as there was mixed reviews. We decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The food was lovely...More

Very disappointing. This is our Betwixtmas meal out every year and we always look forward to it. Ever again! Only two tables dining, ours (2 adults, 3kids) the other one of 3 adults. 45 mins for starters of 2 chicken noodle soup - basically unflavoured...More

Ordered a large and varied take away to celebrate a birthday of work colleague. I have to say the food was excellent and very quick service. This is the first time at Lychees will definitely be back.

I normally like to write positively about places I visit but I'm afraid that the standards set at Lychees falls well below what any reasonable visitor to the establishment would expect. Service was incredibly slow throughout our stay. As part of a large group I...More

Tasteless fried vegetables, and the so called “sweet and sour” sauce was actually just sweet chili sauce from a bottle I could bought myself at tesco. Also the ginger beer was served in a can and the glass was so filled with ice I could...More

I ordered the crispy shredded chicken on the early evening menu. My companions had chicken in black bean sauce (tender and tasty) and lychee chicken (fine too). My shredded chicken was over cooked. It tasted like it had been pre cooked then received on request...More

With response to your management comments, my husband has been a head chef for over 15 years and if he says that the spring rolls were full of beansprouts then I will take this to be true. With regard to your service I found it shocking and your explanation is terrible. It certainly doesn't take extra time for a table of four to eat than table of two. That table I refer to also complained to your waiting staff and asked why we were served before them when they had clearly been in before us. We had also asked where our meal was but had asked for two drink which never arrived, we had to ask again. I think you also need to check your cleaners do a thorough job in cleaning as the corners of the floor and ledges were dirty and dusty. Obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while. As for your curries I do not like Thai curries because they generally have coriander in them and I do not like coriander, hence why I went for a traditional Chinese curry, but as I said it was bland with no spice to it and the chicken was tough. I really don't like the attitude you have shown us.

I am not the manager or owner. I am a customer who treated friends for a meal nothing more. They enjoyed the meal and hail from mainland China by the way..
