This was our second visit to Lychees. We came here some 6 weeks ago or so. We were impressed so decided to return. We took the same starters which were consistently good., which is a good sign The chicken Chow mein was perfect as the...Singapore Noodles. The only fault was that we feel our order may have been overlooked and the waiting time for the main was extraordinary long. The same is for the dessert. There were a lot of takeaways, and our guess was that priority was given to the takeaways. However, we feel this was excellent and we will return.More

Visited Lychees today for lunch based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. Highlights for us were the Sirloin steak cooked to perfection and the Chicken Satay Skewer starter. The lunch set menu offers such good value for money. All delivered by lovely serving staff....Can't wait to return.More

We have enjoyed a takeout before from this restaurant before, but tonight we decided to dine in and what a delightful experience we had. The food was superb and the friendly staff provided exceptional service. We will be back.

My wife and I visited Ayr at the weekend and decided to give it a try yesterday. We had a 3 course meal on their lunch menu,£10.95 for 3 courses. The food was delicious, hot, very tasty, freshly prepared and served in an extremely professional manner. One of the...best meals we've had in a long time!! We will be sure to return the next time we're in Ayr...Staff were wonderful and they're very reasonable with the bar prices too.More

After 1 hour 45 mins we had only had our starters! The restaurant wasn’t sold out so couldn’t understand why service was so slow and no explanation was ever offered. We had to call the ten pin upstairs and rearrange the time for our booking...as we had allowed 2 hours for our meal. I enjoy Chinese food and Lychees is ok, nothing that makes it stand out from any other local Chinese restaurant. The surroundings are fine. Wouldn’t say don’t go but I wouldn’t say go either.More

We booked here after looking at the good reviews and the choice of good restaurants is limited in the area. The restaurant looks a bit scruffy on the outside and is in a residential area. Inside the restaurant it did improve but was nothing special....It is a large restaurant so good social distancing. It has no ambiance and resembles more of a cafe. They appeared to be short staffed as it wasn't to busy and there were a few tables not cleared away. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food was ok but nothing special. We had a mixed platter to share with ribs spring rolls and some strange potato wedges that were surprisingly nice. The main courses we all ok but nothing special. We won't be rushing back.More

We were staying in Ayr and had booked a table here for Saturday night. We were surprised it was pretty quiet when we arrived after 8pm despite it being a pleasant and spacious restaurant. Our soups were enjoyable and the mains really tasty, crispy beef...and chilli sauce and chicken and cashew nuts. Staff were pleasant although service was a little slow.More

With response to your management comments, my husband has been a head chef for over 15 years and if he says that the spring rolls were full of beansprouts then I will take this to be true. With regard to your service I found it shocking and your explanation is terrible. It certainly doesn't take extra time for a table of four to eat than table of two. That table I refer to also complained to your waiting staff and asked why we were served before them when they had clearly been in before us. We had also asked where our meal was but had asked for two drink which never arrived, we had to ask again. I think you also need to check your cleaners do a thorough job in cleaning as the corners of the floor and ledges were dirty and dusty. Obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while. As for your curries I do not like Thai curries because they generally have coriander in them and I do not like coriander, hence why I went for a traditional Chinese curry, but as I said it was bland with no spice to it and the chicken was tough. I really don't like the attitude you have shown us.

I am not the manager or owner. I am a customer who treated friends for a meal nothing more. They enjoyed the meal and hail from mainland China by the way..
