Amazing .Thankyou so much Kirsty and Izabel and mark .We had a brilliant night for Paul's birthday. Accommodating a big party of 12 seamlessly .The food was exceptional. First class quality .Great welcoming service .you went above and beyond .
My partner and I were staying in Ayr for a week, and Macfarlane's was the highlight of our holiday. We had four dishes between us, plus a dessert each. I went for the seafood options, my partner for the meat, and we were both impressed....The staff were great to us (thank you Kirsty, Matt and everyone else) and went out of their way to make it special for us. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following night and... enjoyed it even more! Looking forward to a return trip :-)More
Had the most superb tasting experience when we visited this delightful restaurant last Sunday evening. The welcome was warm and pleasant. The food was exquisite and the presentation superb. A pure delight. No fault could be found with any of the dishes chosen. At the...end of the evening Matt spoke with us and we were very impressed with the overall hospitality. Would definitely recommend a visit. Believe me you will not be disappointed. 10 out of 10 for the whole experience.More
A real gem of a restuarant. Excellent food and introduction to a different way of dining. Food served as plates to share, rather than starter and mains. Beautifully cooked and presented. Excellent value for price. Wonderful, helpful and friendly family run business. Would recommend this...restuarant to anyone visiting AyrMore
We were a walk in off the street for lunch, never heard anything about the place before. Me, my wife, our 2 month old and a couple of friends. Totally blown away. The food was unbelievable, got 5 plates between me and my wife -...our friends got 4 and we'd all struggle to pick a favorite purely because each dish was so good. Can't recommend more - plus added bonus of being baby friendly for lunch.More
Booked last minute as I thought prices looks ok for top notch meal. Here is the deal, they are Tapas size. Ok the food is excellent, almost Mitchellin level but you need at least 5 to feel fed properly and the costs mount up. So...total bill was £70 including one bottle of wine. So if you are ok with this no problem as it is top notch fare. Setting and staff all good as well. Enjoy.More
We were blessed to find this place. A treat. Comfortable, warm and cozy. Food tastes like it was homemade. Will be returning. Favorite spot in the town by far. All the staff was friendly and welcoming. Perfect spot for chilly nights.
Read very positive reviews of Macfarlanes and decided to try it. Enjoyed the tapas style dishes. The sauce with the mushroom stroganoff was very rich and unique. Buffalo cauliflower and goats cheese tartlet were also most enjoyable. Shared a scallops with bacon jam and corn...bread but as there were only three scallops this is maybe a dish for one. My wife really appreciated her glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Restaurant is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean Very attentive and friendly Polish staff. Will return. Please note the very limited opening hours so that you are not disappointed. On line calendar for booking a table [1hr 45 min slot] worked well.More
WOW what an absolute gem. Ate here on Saturday 16/10/2021 at the last minute without a reservation. The staff could not have been more accommodating. As for the food, simply beautiful. Everything was cooked to perfection. The mussels were the best I’ve had and I’ve...eaten them all over France in some of the best restaurants. But here, simply beautiful food done well. I was in Ayr for one night on my way back to Sheffield but would consider returning to Ayr at a weekend just to eat here. Fantastic! Thank you to all involved, you have it just right.More
