The Forth Inn looks rundown from the outside. Inside it's just a pub but the food and service is very good. The menu is the usual burgers, steak pie etc. We had fish and chips which was excellent. The batter was lovely and not at all greasy and the chips were homemade. You can sit outside on a sunny day.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Huge portions, very tasty . Slightly disappointed that the chips were frozen and not that wee bit fancier .

Thanks for your review, you make a fair point about the chips. Our problem is volume but you never know, watch this space. Phil. More

Always eat here for lunch when in the area they are always busy so you can tell the food is good. Fish and chips from a paper (on the plate) now that takes me back. Toasties and soup are good too.

If you want excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly service and somewhere dog friendly then make sure you visit The Forth Inn. Went here for dinner on Monday evening, I had the Cajun chicken which was delicious and my partner had the fillet steak which was perfection, make sure you try the pepper sauce!! Lovely restaurant, we are going back before... More

As with our other reviews on this wonderful local pub which serves fantastic food and has in our opinion some of the best staff that we have ever encountered on our travels anywhere, our last visit while staying at a nearby resort we enjoyed lovely starters ( mainly soup) and freshly cooked main courses also some delicious homemade desserts all... What a great local , food is very good and plentiful , ales are well represented and the atmosphere is quaint , set in the middle of town a short walk to all shops ( check out the wool centre) if you can get away from the pub

What a great place. We stayed in Aberfoyle September 2016. Visited the pub on our first day with our large Doberman dog. We were made to feel welcome by both staff and customers. My dad joined us and he has breathing difficulties. We managed to walk the 200 yards or so from our cottage to the pub but my dad... More

Stopped here for a coffee & bite to eat after a decent walk in the area. The fire was lit, making the bar area really cosy, barman very friendly & food (soup, chilli & chips) delightful! I'll definitely be back 👍
