Visited here with a friend, very small intimate space which was nice for catching up and chatting. Lovely coffee and great flavoured hot drinks too. Love coming here during the cold months. Nice and cozy. Friendly staff!

Café Depeche clearly displays its prices for all products on its Menu boards. This gives the consumers the opportunity to decide whether they want to make a purchase or not at Café Depeche. It is therefore very disappointing to read a review where the consumer...More

Dishonest, Violent Aggressive Customer who stole our products is what this title should read. Under normal circumstances I would be quite sympathetic to customer complaints if we were to receive them, but in this instance, for your complaint I will make an exception. I will...More

Description
Cafe Depeche espresso bar was established in Cork in 2003, long before the coffee boom hit Cork. It is a independent family run, Cork owned business, which also employs many local Cork staff, Our mission from the outset was to establish a cafe that would set the trends rather than follow them. A business that would source the finest and best ingredients and products, that our customers deserved. Since our beginning's we have set many standards and first's that have now become the norm, in the cafe culture in Cork. I am also fully aware that Cafe Depeche has one of the largest selection of hot & cold drinks and cafe food selections in Cork. Cafe Depeche at Lancaster quay, is a cosy intimate cafe, with approximately 25 seats, we were the first cafe in Cork to locate its espresso machine on its front counter and also to offer customers seating at the counter, in order to maximise the customer service that we can offer our customers. Cafe Depeche has no power to introduce any more seats and have no control on the size of commercial units in Cork. We do have a 10 seater table that we offer to those in groups over six, if available. Many of our customers reserve this table for meetings, gathering etc in advance and at Cafe Depeche we will always do our best to accommodate all our customers and their needs, where ever possible. Cafe Depeche takes extreme pride in its products. Our 'basic coffee' you refer to is a dark roasted espresso bean, which is a unique blend to Cafe Depeche. Cafe Depeche offers the widest choice of speciality espresso based drinks in Cork. Cafe Depeche was one of the first cafe's in Ireland, which was recognised by Speciality Coffee Association of Europe, dedicated to quality and training. Since 2005 Cafe Depeche also offer's a premium guest blend, which changes every month, this is offered through espresso or filter, another trend that is now catching on within the Cork Cafe Culture 10 years after it was originally introduced into Cork by Cafe Depeche. Our range of hot drinks includes but is far from limited to the traditional Ristretto, Espresso, Doppio and Macchiato. Modern long blacks, flat white and cappuccino, classics such as lattes and mocha's and Crunchy, Mint Aero, Creme Brûlée Mocha's, Nutty Irishman lattes, Hot chocolate made from the finest Belgian Callebaut white, milk & Dark Chocolate. Speciality Suki tea leaf, the finest on the market and another Irish company. Our very own brewed chai tea and matcha green tea lattes, as well as our local Barry's tea. Cafe Depeche is the home of the Flat White, Long Black, Chai tea latte, Matcha green tea latte, loose leaf tea, to name but a few in Cork, being introduced into the city years before our fellow cafes, followed our trends. In 2005 Cafe Depeche introduced One Water into the Cork Market, which went on to be the main supporter of Live 8, the same year we introduced San Pellegrino, nearly 5 years before any other cafe in Cork. 2005 also saw Cafe Depeche become the first cafe in Cork to introduce wine, into its premises. Cafe Depeche has become a haven for new companies to trend new products before they become mainstream and commercial. Cafe Depeche also sponsored local cycling and acting clubs, as well as our continued support of the Mercy Cancer foundation. We also hosted a fundraiser with Munster Rugby's New Zealand rugby players, for the survivors of the Christchurch earthquake in New Zealand setting a standard of supporting groups. With regards to the 'basic croissant territory' you refer to, Our pastries are made from Isigny butter, which produce's some of the finest butter on the market. Our daily freshly baked pastry range includes Apricot croissant, Almond croissant, Pain aux raisins, traditional Isigny Croissant as well as our new chocolate Viennese. We have just also launched the 'Bordeaux classic', the Canele, which I am aware you will struggle to find anywhere else in Cork. We also offer Triple Chocolate, Multi Seed, Blueberry, Strawberry & Cream, Lemon Drizzle muffins, Cranberry & white chocolate, Triple chocolate, milk chocolate & white chocolate and macadamia cookies, Caramel & Peanut and Caramel cups in both Callebaut white and milk chocolate. We carry one of the biggest selection of Rocky Roads in Cork. Cafe Depeche also has a wide selection of salted caramel cups, Hazelnut praline cara crakine cups, matcha green tea & Callebaut white chocolate cups. Our Dark Chocolate brownie, made with Isigny butter and Callebaut Dark chocolate 70.4% has become one of our most sought after products. We offer the only and largest selection of handmade truffle bars in Cork, along with 100g chocolate bar varieties. Our 'slice of cake' is a carefully selected and handmade choice of French style patisserie, with this weeks options being Speculoos, Pineapple, citron & Coconut, 3 chocolate mousse, Salted Caramel and Apple & Creme brûlée. In the food market in Cork, we have also set many trends including introducing Cupcakes, whoopee pies, macarons and most recently french eclair. We also retail brands such as world famous Hadji Bey Turkish Delight. Regarding our lunch, we have the most creative and speciality sandwich menu in Cork. Selling out of these everyday. Our sandwich range includes Spinach, provolone, Smoked Duck with a truffle balsamic reduction Spinach, Pastrami, Gherkin with a fig chutney on a cinnamon & Hazelnut bread Baked Ham, Smoked cheddar, Gherkins with a Pear & Lime chutney on a apple & cheddar loaf Olive tapenade, Mozzarella, Sun dried tomato, basil, pesto on an Olive pave Chorizo, Smoked Chicken, basil, sun dried tomato, pesto with a balsamic reduction on a smoked sun dried tomato loaf Smoked chicken, cucumber, tomato, pumpkin seeds, blue poppy seeds, cranberries with a peach balsamic reduction on a cranberry & pumpkin seed loaf Our products are made daily by our selves at our kitchen on Washington St, so we can therefore control the quality and consistency of our products.
