I'll keep this review short. The Bank on CG has gotten "Hospitality Pub of the Year" from 2007-2011. Perhaps they aren't anymore? Either way, the ambiance is great, the food is above average, the weekday mid-morning crowd is slim and the music is very relaxing. It's winter time and the fire is going. The chairs are superbly comfortable and I... More

Magnificent venue. Friendly European service. I went for the burger which was grand but not special. Fish if the day next time! Not too pricey but what architecture! It can get very hot in the mezzanine. Better climate on ground floor.

We came here for Saturday lunch! It was delicious! My partner ordered Fish of the Day (Trout, Mashed Potatoes, Prawn Bisque) whilst I ordered the Steak Sandwich. It was lovely to listen to piano music during our meal and the service was brilliant on the top floor. Super friendly. The produce the Bank uses for their food is super fresh... More

We came here to experience the traditional Irish Sunday roast. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious -- we got a beef and pork roast and both were great. Also the ambiance -- this restaurant is built inside what used to be a bank.

The bank is in a great, central location, just meters away from Trinity College. As I had gone with my mum as a little treat for her birthday, I was hoping to get great service too. However, the lady who was working by the door to seat customers, I found had a bit of an attitude. We were asked to... More

Absolutely brilliant spot - service is out of this world, selection of drinks superb and the setting is exquisite. Found it entirely by accident but so glad we did. Food looked delicious too. Would definitely return.

We were only in Dublin for a few nights and we ate here for 2 of them. While the food is farm to table and sustainable whenever possible (a huge plus), the main reason we came back was for Nadia, a server who works in the upstairs part of the restaurant. She is beyond adorable, friendly and just great at... More

Paid my first visit here for a Sunday lunch with a party of eight. The service was great and the setting most unusual and truly beautiful. Some of us were served our main dish on wooden platters which I consider to be unhygienic and found a bit off putting . The wines were good but overall my friends and I were... More

An old haunt of mine, but recently had occasion to visit on a busy Sunday evening when the place was heaving with Christmas revellers. I was lucky to get a seat at the bar and was feeling quiet peckish... need not have worried as our friendly barman had us served with drinks and a Bankers Platter in double quick time,... More

Hi Gary,

Firstly thanks for you custom with us, this 'review' came as a major shock to us all in The Bank and we feel it imperative to respond (again) to you about the issues brought up. We after reading the comments spoke to all staff concerned and also went through tthe cctv as we were shocked as to how such a situation could occcur. Having contacted you privately and trip advisor since we are also a bit bemused by the whole situation. It is noted you arrived in to The Bank during a busy evening/night in December, you had no reservation (unfortuantely) you and your girlfriend were informed we were fully booked in the restaurant but could accommodate you for a 45 mins sitting only (we could have said it wasn't possible but try to accomodate all customers where possible), you both said you were more than happy with the arrangement (you have since clafified this). Thi is obviosly where we have a bone of contention with yourselves as you had agreed to a 45 minute window for food, (we had another group booked in) you had your food, you were given extra time to enjoy the food, you did mention the food was beautiful which is much appreciated, you were given extra time to finish your meals (an extra 28 mins according to our cctv) so you had a total of 68 mins after you agreeing to 45, we feel we went above and beyond the call of duty and had a large group waiting patiently for their tables in the main bar, We are not sure what more is expected of us? you have mentioned the food was 'brilliant' the service was great and your gripe seems to be the timings, which you both agreed to (without a booking 45 mins and were given 68 mins) We are literally at a loss as to how we could have done anything differently. This has all been explained to you (who has previously never had a review on this 'site' before) and to Trip Advisor who seem to dissociate themselves from all 'reviews' by putting a disclaimer at the end of all 'reviews' stating

'This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not Tripadvisor LLC' What more could have been done for you and your girlfriend we are at a complete loss? Possibly in future you could possibly make a reservation so you wont be under any time constraints and we will do our upmost to provive 'brilliant food and great service' again,We have very hard working team in The Bank and we do our utmost to accommodate all customers where possible, sites like this leave us all quite disgruntled, we can't be perfect all the time but do our best at all times where possible. It is impossible to know how to respond to such comments on sites like these but many thanks again for your custom!
