we each had a fish dish - mackeral and hake, along with a raspberry pimm's cup. unexpectedly well prepared, presented and tasty for such a casual place.

We wanted a quick bite before going to a show in the Bord Gais Theatre. I booked in advance and told them we would need to eat quickly. My husband arrived late but gave me permission to order for him so I enjoyed a Pineapple and Ginger Pims while I waited. The food and husband arrived at the same time!... More

We were staying at the Marker and wandered over to Herbstreet for brunch. It was delicious and a great experience. Very good eggs Florentine.

The area was packed. One of the restaurants near to the bord gais theatre. It was packed when we arrived at 6. The food were a little on the pricier side. Portions were not very huge. The burger was a little dry. The risotto with black truffle and mushrooms was a tad saltish if u like it that way. The... More

The place is jammed on Sundays so we had to wait 40 minutes for a table. However once we got seated the dining experience was very pleasant. The service was great and the menu offers a range of options from healthy salads to pancake stacks. The restaurant itself is quite basic but it suits the cafe on the docks vibe... More

My boyfriend and I popped into Herbstreet for breakfast while we were visiting Dublin. The food was delicious! He had the traditional Irish breakfast and I have poached eggs and toast. Both were great meals. Additionally while sitting in the restaurant you get a fantastic view of the grand canal. All in all an excellent place to grab a bite... More

Herbstreet serves brilliant breakfasts; full Irish, champion’s (smoked salmon) and porridge are tasty and fuels the body for the day. The inside is modern and offers a fantastic view on the theatre and docks. Service is okay.

This is a restaurant typical of one that is paying a big rent for a great location and don't have to work hard to keep up standards. We were met by pleasant enough staff but a (blond) waitress could not have been more disinterested in us. The place was busy but the delay in getting a can of beer to... More

We arrived for brunch on Sunday morning at 9.50am and we're glad we'd gone early, the place filled up in no time and we could see why. Excellent service and a great menu, it was so hard to make a decision. We enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and the French toast very much with a glass of fresh juice.

Relaxed cafe restaurant with outdoor seating by the water. Lovely for a sunny day. Enjoyed coffee, tea and a very tasty cheesecake. Service by Gabriella who looked after us well.

Thank Simon H
