Want to have a feed at a 'real' Irish Pub. Try the Brazen Head. It's popular with locals & tourists & serves traditional Irish fare. It has a fun bustling atmosphere. They don't take reservations, so you might have to wait a little while for a table at peak times.

I did get the pleasure of going to the Brazen Head. It was a bit sketchy at night walking down the canal lane to Brazen Head, but once there it was a welcoming atmosphere. I got a scoop on a great activity they had there. It was called Fairies and Folktales and it was on the second floor in a... More

We were staying in Temple bar which has pubs and pubs and pubs. Some however make the most of reputation of Temple bar to inflate prices and not focus on traditional atmosphere. My uncle though visits Dublin regularly and when he suggested Brazen Head as authentic and real pub I was excited. It is a little bit of a walk... More

The Brazen Head is reportedly the oldest pub in Dublin! Bags of character with nooks and crannies! Food is great. Try the Irish Stew! There is entertainment in way of traditional Irish music which I recommend. Get there early though if you want a seat! Also a great selection of Irish craft beers

Apparently the oldest pub in Ireland! Was nice, good food and service was brilliant as usual, its a warren inside with all sorts of rooms to discover.

The history alone had me hooked. Totally enjoyed our meal and pints. I loved the ambiance and would definitely recommend a visit.

Came here for a Sunday lunch with our 2 kids. I was a bit skeptical because I thought it might be a total tourist trap, known more for being the oldest pub, rather than for good food. That was definitely not the case!! Went into the first dining area we saw (which we later saw at least 3 other areas... More

This bar is much larger than I expected. It is like a labyrinth of rooms and hallways! The beers were great and the wait staff was excellent. I especially loved the resident dog that has lived there for years. We didn't eat very much, just a dessert. :)

You know the supposed history, of course -- oldest bar on the island. Who knows if that's true or not but it's a decent pub just the same. Food is better than average (the Irish stew was actually excellent). And if you don't like Guinness (shame on you) there's a reasonable selection of other beers.

The Brazen Head has personality & a great vibe, it's definitely worth a visit. Very crowed on weekends, it serves good food and can be a good place for having fun among friends.
