I've never eaten in the restaurant on the left, only ever in the self-serve on the right. Think it's The Birdcage? Anyway, I've been there a few times. I've never gone for their mains 'cause I just think they are too expensive. But have tried scones, cakes, sandwiches, and coffees on various occasions. Always very good and tasty. I had... More

We visited recently on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant upstairs advertises that it opens until 5.30 but when we arrived at 4.30 they were already tidying the food away so there was very little to choose from. Having driven to Rathcoole especially, we decided to stay, after having difficulty parking and the rain lashing down on us. There were really... More

Had a very enjoyable lunch here. Everything looked amazing so it was hard to choose. Huge range to choose from hot/cold/savoury and sweet. It is a little expensive and extremely busy. The food market down stairs has more beautiful food. Some good offers on when I visited. Would highly recommend a visit.

What better way to celebrate Christmas Eve than at the Egg Restaurant!!! The atmosphere was really Christmassy with families old and young getting together to kick off the celebrations. Although the restaurant was crowded , the service was prompt and friendly. Our only criticism was that the portions were too big!!! None of us could finish our meal and actually... More

Great restaurant if you don't want to spend a lot of time for your dinning. Food is very good and served fresh and quick. Great choice of courses as well as deserts. It might be very busy lunch time. Good coffee too

We called in here for lunch in early November. It was my first time in the Birdcage. Very busy around 2 pm, and it not the cheapest place to eat. We had a warm chicken and brie cheese sandwich, and soup of the day /vegetables/, and both was delicious!, so fresh & tasty & big portions. The reg. Americano coffee... More

Whenever I get a chance to go there I make sure I go there early lunch for the freshest foods. Their portions are huge but my body loves their foods, I never get bloated or anything after having the big portion. Just honest, simple and lovely food, they are prime example of the Irish food at its best.
