Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located in the middle of Temple Bar area, among other pubs, restaurants and bars. The place was recommended by our "Free walking Tour" guide, so all of us entered the packed place for a quick beer at noon time. In a few minutes we were...holding our cold pints, stepping towards the patio. Happy (and noisy) atmosphere. We had a great beer break. RecommendedMore

My friend and I were looking for dinner and we came to this restaurant after hearing the music playing from outside. We were sat right away, even with the place being very busy. There was a band playing and they were fantastic and had everyone...in the place singing along. It took about 15 minutes for waiter to come to table to take order, no problem. Ordered Guinness and fish and chips. We have had MUCH better fish in the states. The fish here was fishy- tasting and smelling. The fries were good however. Tarter sauce was just ok, have had better. Beer was good! I would have definitely preferred to eat somewhere else and just come for drinks and music.More

The Irish Stew was very poor! The broth tasted like it had been made from a stock cube! The bread was tasty. The following night went to The Shack and had excellent Irish Stew.

We ate here as a family group with my 88 year old mother. On arrival they quickly cleared a table for us given my mother's limited mobility walking with a stick. Waitress service was prompt. Drinks arrived before the meal and food was quickly served...and was piping hot. The bar serves Irish classics like cottage pie, beef stew and bangers and mash. We had the West of Ireland fish chowder served with soda bread which was excellent, and the bangers & mash were equally tasty. Continuous live music from I''m guessing a Portuguese guitar player - a blend of pop classics from the past 40 years. Excellent performance but if one thing disappointed I'd have hoped for a few more Irish ballads. Our server Monika was very attentive and I'd certainly return for the food, atmosphere and of course local Guinness.More

We had dinner here and it was excellent. Returned for lunch the following day. Big variety on the menu. The mussels were delicious and the seafood chowder is amazing. Highly recommend.

Fun atmosphere and nice friendly staff. Food was just meh / average. I ordered HOMEMADE IRISH PORK & APPLE CRUST PIE Irish traditional pork and apple on a shortcrust pastry served with potato and beetroot gratin I guess maybe my expectation was a pork potpie...with apples, but it was more of a ground breakfast pork sausage with a little apple ground in. was very small and not very good. the potato and beet gratin was just shredded red beet meh.... I was so hungry I ordered wings for desert. Wife's TRADITIONAL GUINNESS & IRISH BEEF CASSEROLE was tasteyMore

Would highly recommend eating here! My friend and I got the chicken and beef burgers and they were delicious. The fries are in a pretty unique shape and somehow that made them all the more yummy. The pub was very atmospheric and we enjoyed listening...to the music and even seeing someone do Irish dancing on the bar top.More

Perfect place to ear real traditional Irish music, drink a beer and discuss with Irish peoples. We spent an authentic moment.

Not normally one for writing reviews but I feel that fact that I had literally one of the best nights out in my life here needed to be documented. We were in Dublin for my friends hen do and came across this pub. We could...hear the live music blaring and thought that we would give it a try…and am I glad we did! I am not exaggerating when I say that it was better than any concert that I have ever been to. Jake Suleman was on stage playing the most eclectic mix of music you’ve ever heard. His voice is just insane in the absolutely best possible way! We danced until the lights came up. It was just excellent. Although the place was pretty packed getting to the bar and getting served was never an issue and bar staff were really friendly. Even taking the time to help me carry drinks back over to my group of friends. Really great place. Would recommend.More

Sought out this location to try the Shepard's pie. Had read great reviews. It was delicious and came with a side of vegetables. My nephew had a chicken Ceasars salad and loved it. Of course had a pint of guiness. There was live music and...people were signing along. Really enjoyed our trip. There are a few levels of seating and even a small courtyard. We ate upstairs. Could hear the music but also each other. Highly recommend the Shepard's pie!More

It’s a pub with great music food/drink in temple bar but the price of a pint is kinda crazy(in my eyes from a dubliner ) €7:80 for a pint of Heineken
