Fade Street Social garners acclaim for its vibrant atmosphere, where guests are often swept up by the lively music and social buzz. With a menu that usually delights patrons with its creativity and flavor, this restaurant has earned a reputation for attentive and professional service. However, some diners have pointed out instances of inconsistency in service and occasional culinary missteps, such as overcooked dishes. While many find the overall dining experience worth the cost, a few consider it overpriced.

Travelling solo I chose the restaurant (as opposed to the tapas area which was very busy) - uncluttered menu, big selection of steak, the blackboard shows the chateaubriand selection (different weights) available 500g to 700g on my night. The high ceiling in the restaurant part meant is was chilly in there. I went for the scallops (2) which were delicious followed by Wicklow lamb and baby potatoes. The lamb dish although came hot cooled down very quickly in the atmosphere. Summer visit next time.

We usually book here for our conference trip when we are in Dublin in January each year. Sadly this may be the last time. The menu has been revamped for Sundays and all the usual signature dishes are gone. The menu is tiny, there was one vegetarian dish (which was fish) for 1 of our party, and that was it. the other 6 of us struggled to find something we wanted on the menu and ended up "making do" The place was all but empty in the main restaurant, so there was zero atmosphere. Sadly I think Fade St Social and I will be parting company.

My husband and I arrived on a Friday night at 8:30 pm without a reservation. The restaurant was mobbed and we didn't think we would get seated. We were given the option of the restaurant or the Tapas Bar, we chose the Tapas. We were asked to go upstairs for a drink and within 10 minutes the hostess came up to take us to our table. The menu was varied and we found it difficult not to order too much. We ordered Tempura Prawns.....the best tasting prawn dish we have ever tasted. The prawns were on a skewer accompanied by a bowl of sauce with chorizo and chickpeas, it was heavenly. All of the other dishes were fantastic, and the wine was perfect. The whole atmosphere of sitting watching the chefs accompanied by excellent staff made this place the best for us in Dublin.

Visited Fade Street Social recently with friends for dinner having booked a table in the Restaurant section (not tapas). This was my second visit in as many months. The previous was a huge let down, but I was willing to give Fade Street another chance. The atmosphere here is good and the decor is wonderful. Our waitress was great. But that is where the positives end. The food is a huge overpriced let down. I ordered a scallop starter and got 1 dry micro scallop in breadcrumbs with a big dollop of mashed potato presented in a shell. Great if you wanted a “mashed potato starter” but all expensive style and very little substance for nearly €12 Main was a rabbit stew, in which I had to fish through the dish to actually find some rabbit amongst the cream, bacon and onion. Found the whole dish tasteless again for a nice price just shy of €30 Ordering drinks, I ordered Nastro Azzuro which first came in a branded glass, second one was in an old generic pint glass. For a place charging top money for food and drinks would expect a little better. My overall opinion is that Fade Street Social is all show and not adhering to the "bringing to the plate all the best in Irish Produce" "tag" they mention on their website. Dublin offers far more better value restaurants with energetic passionate chefs creating plates worthy of talking about. I know my review will not in anyway effect Fade Street Social and the owners profit margins. But I felt the need to highlight this to customers before they part with their hard earned money for a booking. Avoid Fade Street Social

Went here on Saturday night with a friend based on online recommendations. On arrival we were told that our table was not ready yet and asked would we like to get a drink in the upstairs bar, we had two cocktails and they were delicious but I’m afraid it all went downhill from there. We were in the rooftop bar for 45 minutes before being brought to restaurant. We were starving at this point. Then we were waiting at least 15 minutes for a waiter to take our dinner orders only to be told that they were running on a limited menu and the dishes that we had planned on ordering were ‘all out’ from a very unapologetic waiter. When inquiring about ordering a steak instead, the waiter looked at me and said “you wouldn’t be able to eat that” in a very unpleasant manner. It was coming up to 10pm and we had been there since 8:45 so had we been brought to our table quicker, we probably would have been able to get what we wanted. The alternative dishes that we ordered were very mediocre and certainly not worth the price tag and to be waiting upwards of 20 minutes for a salad was ridiculous. We even had to get takeaway on the way home as we were still hungry. I felt as though we were not taken seriously as we were some of the younger clientele in the restaurant that night even though we are both working professionals and were willing to spend our money on good food and drinks Only positives to the night where the cocktails and the fact that the place felt very covid-safe. Overall a very poor dining experience and would be very reluctant to go again.

We made a last minute reservation on OpenTable for 9:45pm on a Monday night. We arrived, and while it looked like they actually wanted to close, they let us come in and order food while they got the rest of the place closed down. So thank you for being accommodating and ensuring we got some delicious food. The kitchen got our stuff whipped up quickly. We ended up ordering four dishes without meat, and didn't miss it at all. We aren't even vegetarians, but if I was, this place definitely knew how to make some damn good veggie dishes. The squash flatbread, mushroom pasta, roasted vegetables were all so so good. We would definitely be back! Loved our meal! Thanks for taking us in!

Got this voucher as a gift. The food is a little pricey and the menu may seem limited if your a fussy eater like myself!! However I was brave and the food ordered (a steak chips and dessert) was truly delicious. Even the cocktails I had were so good. We were impressed and the service was super! It was a really lovely treat!

Over priced for the food; €42 for steak and chips (and literally nothing else) is so over priced for a steak which wasn’t anything special.. we also paid €7 for a side cabbage which was bland and a tiny bowl. So €49 euro for wet cabbage, an average steak and a few chips... So many better options for less in Dublin... wouldn’t recommend.

Had not been for a few years and went for outdoor for dining on the roof terrace. Firstly everyone from reception to to serving was very friendly and helpful We had pork belly and burgers. The pork belly was by far the best we ever had and most reasonable priced Overall a very successful evening at a reasonably price

Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Me and my friends came here for our Christmas dinner and we only managed to get 2 drinks each in the space of 2.5 hours because they kept forgetting our orders repeatedly. Then at the end they mischarged us like €100 and never even apologised. Took 45 mins to sort our bill. Very disappointed as the setting is beautiful and went to waste.

We had the chateau-briande steak which cost us €83 (approx 570g) it was OK but nothing special as the knives provided struggled to cut it. We had the camembert along with it which was good and also a portion of onion rings. I have the say the cocktails were good. We also ordered the fruit sundaes which were a disappointment as the glasses were small and only about a teaspoonful of ice-cream (no kidding) The service was also poor. This was our special night of our weekend away but had better service and food elsewhere.

I ate here recently and had a seat at the bar so saw the chefs in action. I was honestly so disappointed as I had eaten here a few years ago and really enjoyed. We had the steak to share and it is basically reheated. The rump is pre cooked and they reheat most dishes under lamp or on stove. The prawns were bad quality and lacked flavour. The duck spring rolls while tasty the meat was mush. Completely overpriced. The waiter was nice.

This is a tough review because food was good and the atmosphere was fun and lively with great music. We were a group of 12 Americans on a Friday night so allowances were made for our size and difficulty in serving a large group on a busy holiday weekend. Several of our party are former servers or managers in the food industry so very sympathetic and understanding of the challenges of a large group on a busy night. Our server, Norbert, was aggressive and, interestingly, dismissive, at the same time. He was impatient when asked for explanations or recommendations and seemed only interested in selling as much as he could. Bottles of tap water were repeatedly brought to the table and poured without asking and when the bill came we learned that the bottles of tap water were 6 euro/bottle - for a group of 12 diners, that’s a lot of water. Likewise no explanation was made of the pricing for the shared plates and Norbert’s english seemed to fail him when questioned. The money spent was not an issue as we were vacationing and happy to spend on a delicious meal in a fun city but we were left with the feeling of being fleeced. The service, although quick and efficient left us all feeling manhandled! Servers/runners were constantly reaching in front of people who were talking and eating and plates dropped to the table, flatware aggressively collected or dropped on dishes and more than a few of us were knocked in the head by elbows and arms as they reached and grabbed items from the table. We were interrupted by shouts of drinks and dishes as they were brought to the table as staff did not know who ordered what. It was not a pleasant, relaxing experience. Again, the food was creative and delicious. The courses were well timed and the atmosphere of the restaurant was fun - loud - but fun with great music. I would probably not go back though because of the aggressive service and bill padding.

If I could give this Review a minus in stars I would. My friend and I went to Fade Street social for some lunch a few days ago on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant itself was dead, had loads of free seats which we thought was quite unusual for this restaurant but we sat down anyways to order as I have been here before and always enjoyed lunch at this restaurant. Firstly the service straight from the start was appalling. The waiter watched us sit down and asked us where we ready to order within seconds. We advised no, we just sat but asked for water. The water never came and when it did, it went to the wrong table, he then asked us again would we like some water forgetting that we had just asked for water and he was supposed to give it to us. When we finally ordered food, I asked for the steak and chips from the menu. The 8oz steak alone costs €33 without any chips or sides so we were expecting what we seen in the menu but when the steak came out, I was shocked to see what I had been given. I attached a photo. It was tiny, definitely smaller then 8oz and the presentation was not what was expected from what was written on the menu. When the food was been delivered out, it was brought to the dogs table and placed there before serving where a dog was sitting. The dog was inches away from our food as this was a huge Bernese mountain dog, and could have easily eaten the food while the waiter paced back and forward from the dogs table to ours with the food. When the food was given, we asked for salt for the table, which we never received. The waiter kept passing us and didn’t once come to ask, how are things? How’s your food? Do you need anything? We were completely ignored. Your staff were more interested in a dog sitting outside then in your paying customers. You even posted a photo of the dog on your Instagram boasting how much you welcome dogs, which I have just seen today, however this was at the expense of your customers. My steak was dry and Cold, like it had been sitting for a good while before been served. Upon being served, I asked “what’s the story with this steak” to which I received a reply “its 8oz”. He didn’t ask for any feedback as to why I asked that question and just shut me off straight away with a snobby reply. 8oz or not, for what I was paying I was expecting a fresh delicious steak which is far from what I got. We were never asked would we like a desert menu, we were not asked would we like more water, no coffee, no tea? Absolutely nothing. The only interaction we received was when we asked to pay for the bill and at that moment we expressed to the waiter how disappointed we were in the service and he couldn’t have given 2 hoots. He seemed unbothered. We provided on the spot feedback, and received an unbothered look with no care about what we had said. So this response left me to write am official review. Fade Street Social is not a cheep restaurant and I was shocked to experience this type of, or for better words “lack of” service. I won’t be returning. You have lost 2 customers.

We booked in an evening meal, hoping for a special night for us while in the city, however, were only met with disappointment. The restaurant itself was horrendously busy, with the woman sat next to me hitting elbows our tables were so bunched in. Christmas music was playing which would have been nice had it of not been so loud, my partner and I could not really have a full conversation due to the noise. Service was not enjoyable at all, we found the waiters to be rude and service was exceptionally slow which was surprising as the entire restaurant floor was flooded with waiters, messing around on the stairs or just hovering over tables. The food is very expensive which would have been fine had it have been of top quality but it was not. The steak was not enjoyable and came over done as well as the portions being very small. Very little to no enjoyment was got out of dining here which was a huge disappointment.
