I don't normally write reviews of places that are disappointing but I will make an exception for Oliver Saint John Gogarty I last visited many years ago and had high hopes and to be fair the starters were nice ribs and smokies we had initially asked for the Dublin Bay prawns as a starter to be told they weren't available... Lively and quite good atmosphere. Mediocre music and pretty grim food. My meal was ok but coolish and my friend's looked like a plate of sick. We didn't complain at the time which was a mistake as they would have actioned the complaint. The service was poor.

Had barely arrived in Dublin on a cold March day and popped in for a warming bowl of seafood chowder and a pint of beer. Good atmosphere with live, but not intrusive, music - and I'm told the salmon and Guinness bread is worth checking out too. Might be back tomorrow to try it then...

Really excellent food! I would highly recommend Gogarty's for both food and a drink! Traditional live music and a really good vibe.

Very popular destination with three floors, the first two have live music and the top is the restaurant. Food is good and good value. Ground floor was so full on our second night we couldn't get in !! Great music and atmosphere, well worth a visit

We visited during a trip to Dublin based on a recommendation. It was a great pub, really good food and a fantastic atmosphere with live music playing all the time. We were in Dublin when France played Ireland at Rugby. The atmosphere in Dublin and in/around Gogartys was awesome. If you get the chance while in Dublin it's highly recommended.

As you arrive at this pub you must go straight upstairs to the next bar this is where the musicians play traditional Irish music which you can not help but jig away the night to. A little pricey (£6.25 for a Kopperberg Cider) but this seems to be the norm for Temple Bar, prices are cheaper elsewhere in Dublin but... More

This is a fairly big pub in the temple bar area but felt very friendly. You come for the music and atmosphere and it delivers on it. BUT the prices are absurd. I assumed we would pay more to be in the tourist area but we felt we were completely ripped off and that's not fair. 19 euro for a... More
