Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have no doubt the pricing is in keeping with the other bars on Temple bar. They have you exactly where they want you. If you want to go drinking on the famous street and enjoy the live music you have to pay over the odds. Staff were lovely and the venue was nice, just over priced.

No issue at all with the service & the Covid arrangements. Simply the price of beer here (& temple bar in general). Even before Covid the prices were extortion but perhaps in some of the bars you were having the benefit of live music. But not now. How can a pub justify €17.30 for two pints & a bag of peanuts. We weren’t tourists so we were in our bike!!!

We stopped here for dinner one evening while in Dublin. Downstairs is hopping with music, upstairs has a great dining area. Jamie was phenomenal - providing friendly service and helpful recommendations. We enjoyed fish and chips, along with a tasty chicken curry - with additional spice as ordered.

Went with a friend, paid 17€ for a small burger which tasted like it came straight out of the freezer and 7€ for a beer I waited 20mins for as they had to pour it in the bar below. My friend was missing a side in her food. Nice waitress trying her best but was on her own for the whole room. Live music downstairs sounded decent.

We were a group of 12 people all couples. Had only arrived in Dublin and got everyone together. After 1 person from our party was refused the lady with red hair wouldn't serve the rest of us our drinks. I asked why as we had 2 pints before going to that bar and clearly wernt drunk. She made a scene which was totally unnecessary and she was very insulting, seemed like power of being a manager gone to her head. Customer service skills shocking, so unprofessional and very rude! If you can't deliver customer service skills then get a different job! From working in the travel industry I send alot of people to Dublin, safe to say they will not be recommended to visit here! Wouldn't waste your time or money on this bar- go to Buskers as staff are lovely and atmosphere was fab!

We ate here on our first night in Dublin. We staggered to find a place for dinner after a very long flight. This seemed like a good choice. We were ushered upstairs and there was only 1 other table. We ordered, the food was meh..not very good, not horrible, and rather over priced. The servers were all from Eastern Europe (not a problem, just an observation) and they never checked in on us, if we wanted another drink--hint hint, empty glasses for over 15 mins. We have to constantly wave our arms out to get their attention for everything. Really poor service...they were just hanging out at the bar talking. The bathroom is several steep stairs up and is kinda weird, dark and creepy. I wasnt impressed, will not recommend, keep going to Temple Bar and find a cheaper and better service pub imho. We were there on January 4, 2020.

Jamie and Grace made us feel so welcome and made our visit fun! The food was yummy, the band playing downstairs was great. We went upstairs to dine where we could join the fun of the band and still enjoy conversation and food. The location is right in the Trinity Bar area so lots to do and see! Would recommend this pub for fun and a pint!

Went on a moderately busy Thursday evening. Couple next to me at bar ordered food, it arrived in 5 minutes and looked good. I ordered another pint and a basic burger. It took over 30 minutes to arrive. The chips were cold, my pint was warm, and the bun was flimsy and allowed the burger to fall apart. I ended up eating the meat with a knife and fork. No follow up from staff to ask if meal ok. The place needs work.

A cozy pub right in the middle of the touristy Temple Bar area. We were there for lunch where it was quite quiet and just a good and cozy atmosphere. Very friendly welcome. We got Loaded fries with chilli and beef and 2 good glasses of beer. We got beer and food quite quickly and the nice young man was very attentive and honestly asked if everything was alright. And that was that!

It is truly shameful to have booked through your site for Christmas Eve dinner, to have received your confirmation plus a reminder the day before and to have found the place closed at 8pm! Fortunately, a restaurant near you accepted our request to dine there. Otherwise, when most places were closed due to the holidays, we would have been left without dinner. Shame! Agnese Sturiale

Stumbled across this pub whilst looking for the Temple Bar. The singer they had on that night playing his guitar (Max) was absolutely amazing. We couldn't leave, he was just brilliant. The atmosphere in this bar was great, the bar staff were very friendly and chatted to us most of the night, service was great. Drinks are a bit expensive if you're ordering spirits or wine, food is good and reasonably priced. Definitely visit this pub, you won't be disappointed.

Had a blast here with a few rounds and listened to a woman sing and play the guitar. She played a combo of Irish folk songs, modern pop etc. Her song trio of Johnny Cash / Nancy Sinatra / Johnny Cash was clever, fun and had the crowd fired up. She was a highlight of the trip. This pub did a great job of checking for COIVD vaccination status before seating anyone. Thanks for that.

Live music at night and the bartender gave us the best tip on Irish Whiskey....ask for Green Spot when you go in. It's smooth and delicious, and not too expensive for something that tastes better than Jameson. Great time sitting at the bar, but it was crowded.

Upon arriving in Dublin for our first time we immediately went to the Temple Bar area and popped into the Auld Dubliner for our first Guinness in Ireland. It is a true Irish pub and we enjoyed our drinks. We had heard that the pubs in that district were more expensive than elsewhere (which is true) but we wanted to check out the Temple Bar area atmosphere.

I would definitely recommend. We booked some tables in advance for a group of 17 of us on a Friday night. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Even though we were sat upstairs, the atmosphere was still great and we kept popping down for the live music to have a singalong. Great experience.
