I went for dinner here on Saturday night with a group of friends for the first time and we all really enjoyed it! We were seated upstairs which was lovely & cosy, there was fairy lights all around the room which was a nice touch. I'd recommended requesting a table upstairs when booking as it's a nice area than downstairs.... More

My partner and I had a lovely meal here on Sunday night. We had to request the upstairs seating on the cushions as at first we were shown to the small tables downstairs which are fairly close together and nowhere near the atmosphere of the upper floor. Once up there it was lovely and the food very nice, if rather... More

Visited with a few colleagues. Very knowledgeable and helpful waitress. Very wide choice. Go for the set menus- there is one even for vegetarians! It is cramped, but this provides a homely feel. An architect friend was educating me that low ceilings and close quarter encourage a feeling of camaraderie. This restaurant gives that feeling.

We recently went for a meal at The Chameleon and as my better half (half rice) is a vegetarian were delighted to see a great selection of veggie dishes for her. She went for the set menu that consisted of 6 separate tapas style dishes and rice. She wanted me to order the Java set menu for myself, mostly so... More

We booked this from Edinburgh on the back of the great photos and reviews. Unfortunately we found ourselves downstairs in the rather unimaginative section of the restaurant. It looked more like the setting for a take-away than the sumptuous splendour of upstairs. Of course the only photos on the internet are of upstairs as no-one would bother taking one of... More

I booked a meal here last weekend on recommendation from a friend. We were celebrating a friend reunion. I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable and unique dining experiences I've had. Wonderful food, attentive staff, plush velvet cushioned low seating arrangements ( and background 80's music!!!!) made it a dining experience to treasure.

We had visited before and were delighted to come back again. The steamed buns are to die for. Each dish looks as attractive as they are delicious. I always ask for recommendations and am never disappointed. Do yourself a great favour and arrange a visit.

I have never had Indo Food so this was very much a try it and see, we went for the set menu as you have to assume they have set the food up properly with tastes etc. Overall it was ok and different but I would not rave about it or return.

Description
Chameleon in Temple Bar is an intimate, ambient restaurant that specialises in Indonesian rice-table. Rice table (or rijst-tafel) is when the diner is served an array of sumptuous different dishes, at the same time, from confit of pork belly with star anise to free range chicken satay to our delicious desserts, all made in-house! Its almost like Indonesian tapas!Since opening in 1994, its owners, husband and wife team, Carol & Kevin have made a point in using as much locally sourced Irish produce as possible, including only using free range Irish chicken and locally caught, seasonal Irish fish.Chameleon is ideal for a romantic get together or indeed, for your birthday party or Christmas party, as they can cater for groups of up to 40 in our private dining rooms.Winning may awards over the years in 2013 the Chameleon was voted Best World Cuisine in Ireland by the highly acclaimed Restaurants Association of Ireland
