Great John Smyth stout at 6.4% and €6.80 / pint. Ok I guess for Dublin. Lunchtime (reduced portion size) menu is very good and I would recommend the Guinness stew. Nice little wood burner and attentive staff. Worth a visit

I was surprised to learn Chicken Wings (or Buffalo Wings in USA) were such a thing in Dublin. The wings I had here were shockingly good- I prefer crisp, on the small side wings, and they delivered. Served with a blue/ranch type dipping sauce and celery. Reasonable in cost too. My wife got the mushroom risotto special, which was done... More

I had lunch at The Boxty with my wife during a great trip to Dublin. We had a discount with our Dublin tour bus ticket, so we paid half of our entrees. My wife had a potato pancake with a very tasty piece of veal and I had a delicious corned beef. We ordered to local amber ales that were... More

Feeling like we just had to try the signature boxty, all 8 of us tried a variation of the dish! These thick potato pancakes were tasty and went well with all the fillings. The Gaelic Boxty was a real knockout, with a good portion of meat tucked away in the pancake, plus lots of winter veg. The Irish stew to... More

Quaint restaurant in central Dublin, great atmosphere, good selection of alcohol, chose the boxty platter to share as starter, highly recommend Gaelic Boxty for main- yummy tender steak, pepper sauce, and salad wrapped up in a boxty crepe! Very attentive and friendly staff.

Went here on the recommendation of my tour guide for my walking tour. Service was a little bit on the slow side (though I guess I was there after the lunch rush). But the food was well worth the wait -- I had smoked salmon eggs benedict on boxty (Irish potato pancakes). Quite reasonable price as well. Seems like a... More

I went with two work friends for a quick dinner and where very happy with the service we received at The Boxty. Our waiter was funny and friendly and very happy to help us when we couldn't decide on what to eat or drink.

Thank Adam N
