Neary's has everything you'd want in a pub .,.. classic looks, great bartenders and nice people. There is one huge problem, however, that I've never seen mentioned on Trip Advisor. Put quite simply, Neary's men's room has an overwhelmingly, terrible odor .... literally, it stinks...More

Nearys is a bit of an oasis in the city only a few steps from Grafton street. An old style pub, reasonably priced with great service and a consistently good pint of Guinness. The bar downstairs is great, as is the smaller side bar. If...More

Dropped in to Neary's for drinks after a show. Place was not busy and there was ample seating available. Bar staff were pleasant and I liked the fact that at the end of the night they didn't try and evict customers! They did call 'time'...More

Chosen the Neary's by pure luck yesterday with my friend. Tastet 3 Whiskeys and had a very nice chat with one of the staff, unfortunately we didn't ask his name. After the tasting he recommended another Whiskey to us, which we tried of course :)....More

We were 3 girls(!) in Dublin for the day to see Riverdance in the Gaiety Theatre and happened upon Neary's and we strolled down Grafton St. We decided we needed a bite to eat and a libation of sorts and got seated at a table...More

A great old traditional pub! This pub is simple and straightforward with no nonsense. Nice woodwork, good food and a friendly barkeeper. They say "no children and no music" so you know what kind of atmosphere you'll have. Highly recommended for a quiet moment and...More

Neary's Bar and Lounge is a haven of decorum, good manners, great service and friendly ambience and has been for many decades. This is a pub where great care is afforded to pleasing the customer and providing the best possible product for those who enter...More

After a hectic morning site-seeing, a quiet lunch, a nice drop of Guinness and a good sit-down were on the agenda. We found Neary's by accident but it proved ideal. It's a pub with a narrow bar down one side and table seating down the...More

After visiting many pubs, we'd heard about this one. It was a little disappointing. The atmosphere when we were there was drab and a little "stiff." Beer was good, but no food service.

Welcome to Nearys Bar & Lounge Neary's is a UNESCO City of Literature Bar located in Dublin City Centre. The connection to acting and the literary community date's back to 1871 when the Gaiety theatre opened. The stage door to the Gaiety theatre is located opposite the rear entrance to Neary's. Famous patrons over the years include Maureen Potter, Jimmy O'Dea, Flann O'Brien and Ronnie Drew to name but a few. Neary's is one of a small number of bars with no television or music, where conversation is a valued commodity. We hope you have an opportunity to visit Neary's at some point and we look forward to ensuring you have a memorable experience.
