Pricey but great food , BIG portions , a must if you love meat , steak cooked to perfection , fried onions a must but go there hungry. You won’t regret this one. Friendly staff go early for a drink in the Oval bar.

Petit filet was over cooked (ordered rare got medium), tough and tasteless. Service mainly arrogant and indifferent. Totally overpriced for the levl of food and service provided.

My sister and I celebrated our end of trip farewell dinner with the early dinner special. As a Midwestern gal that grew up on excellent corn-fed beef, I rarely eat steak outside my area. However, I made an exception and had the Irish grass-fed beef...More

It's a must go for any steak lovers out there. The food was top notch. The staff were excellent and the bar afterwards was great to relax in and enjoy some Shanahans own whiskey.

We had a voucher given to us as a wedding present for Shanahans. I had never been here before and cannot praise it enough. Service was friendly, correctly paced and everyone was informative. For starters we had a crab dish and a prawn dish, both...More

If you want to take a step back in time to when restaurants were almost an honour to go to and staff where faultless and people still still dressed up for dinner. This is it. Timeless charm in a comfortable American steak house way. Still...More

This building is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and engaging, however the clientele are vile creatures. Nothing the restaurant can do about that of course, but it wouldn't be my ideal atmosphere even though I do love a chandelier or two in the...More

Booked a pre theatre dinner for my husbands birthday. The entire experience was a pleasure. We were warmly greeted, coats taken & offered a good choice from a set men which suited everyone’s taste. The food was delicious with ample portions, beautifully seasoned, very tasty...More

I first visited Shanahan’s a decade ago and was blown away by the Georgian decor, the well trained staff and the opulent dishes. Sadly though the restaurant does not seem to have moved with the times. While the steaks were delicious, as they always are,...More

There is no dress code but I did wear a blazer and khakis. Didn't want to look like a bum. I strongly recommend the Saddle Room instead, better food and way less expensive.

American Style Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant featuring Certified Irish Angus beef and the freshest seafood and produce from Ireland's local bounty. Shanahan's ethos is simple and sophisticated. Your experience begins upon arrival. Enjoy an aperitif in the Oval Office bar. Take a moment to inspect the impressive collection of memorabilia adorning the walls. Each item commemorates the U.S. Presidents with an Irish connection or ancestry. Marvel at the bar's centrepiece, JFK's rocking chair from Air Force One. Dining in Shanahan's is a delight. The elegance of the food and service, is maintained in perfect harmony with the warmth, which personifies the Shanahan's team.
