This place has an astounding selection of teas for it's size. It also does great snacks (both sweet and savoury). Great atmosphere too.

We visited The Clarence on our first night in Dublin. We were pleased with the price of the two course meal there and the price of the wine (we thought it would cost a lot more to eat there). I opted for Pan Fried Tiger...More

Stopped by on Saturday lunch just arriving from Zurich. Very friendly employees. The Brasilian waiter was fantastic, as well as the young lady from Lithuania. Service very friendly. Lunch was simple but good. Food and wine inexpensive. Quality good. We always enjoy the athmosphere -...More

Visited the Clarence one afternoon for weekend brunch had visited the Clarence bar previous day. One thing that has really affected my review is the presence of what appear to be beer flies in both locations within hotel. Atmosphere was difficult to rate as we...More

Okay, so this was once one of the very top places to eat in Dublin for a special occasion. It was always good and plenty expensive. Times have changed and so has the Tea Rooms. The chef is the same, many of the staff are...More

We had a fairly late dinner in the restaurant and were a large group of 8. We had attentive service and a good choice of food. The restaurant is in a large, high-ceilinged space, which had a good 'buzz' as it was pretty full.

I had a snack at the tea room and decided to move to the Octagon bar for desserts, because it was so quiet but this didn't present a much better picture. Although the fare was of good quality, the service at both was inattentive to...More

Then we had a (very) early dinner at the Tea Room, a restaurant within the Clarence Hotel but with a separate access directly to the back street. Renovated (from whatever it was before – ballroom?); it’s large (and we are almost alone – it’s early!),...More

Description
Uberhip hotel part owned by Bono and The Edge from U2 who purchased it in 1992. The Clarence has played a major part in making Dublin one of the trendiest places to vist not least because of it's combination of restrained style and unparalleled luxury. The furnishings are simple and Shakeresque, but where the decor may be 'minimal' the service and luxury are anything but. Every item of furniture has been customed designed and crafted by Irish artisans - from wrought iron bedside lamps to the restored oak panelling and arts and craft style stained glass windows. if you are feeling flush or have somthing to celebrate book yourself into the sumptuous penthouse which includes a baby grand piano and an outdoor hot tub on the roof terrace with views of the river Liffey. The confusingly named Tea Room is situated in the hotels original dining room which has be completely refurbished and is light and airy. The chef is commited to producing a new style of cooking using only the best and freshest Irish produce making this one of THE best places to eat in Dublin.
