So glad to read other reviews about this restaurant- Let me say that the food was excellent and I ate it all - BUT I was eating on my own and when I was serenaded to James Taylor's 'You've got a friend' I felt I was the only single un accompanied person in the whole of Dublin! I think I... More

OK myself and my partner went down to this restaurant last night the 24TH FEB, 2015, NOW let me add we usually go down to this restaurant as the food is very good and never had any problems until this place turned me right off. As i was saying we had a great meal downstairs which is very quaint, and... More

The food is tasty. The chef gets the whole table involved and it's great craic. If your looking for a different dining experience go here. Men may find portions small but all of my group seemed happy enough. Desserts are not great. This is a great restaurant for a birthday or special occasion as the chef gets the birthday girl/boy... Just spent a weekend in Dublin and stayed at Baggot Court townhouse, which was about 10 doors down from this restaurant. We were unsure if our feet could manage another walk into town so we decided to try it as it was so close and theyre 4 course set evening menu seemed good value. We were not disappointed. Excellent food,... More

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Ranier was our chef and we never stopped laughing. We were celebrating a birthday and they go out of their way to make you feel special!!

I ate downstairs - decor is really cosy. I took the €17.95 special. I was expecting the portions to be smaller - but was definitely not disappointed! The Tom Yum Soup was excellent ! My first time to try this soup and was pleasantly surprised. For the main, the spicy beef was perfectly cooked with some vegetables and I took... More

My first visit to Chai Yo last weekend was fantastic. We were a group of four, to celebrate a birthday. We received a warm welcome and were shown to a Teppanyaki table. The Chef 'Rainier' was a great host, chef and comedian! We laughed all evening. I didn't know in advance that we would be asked to take part in... More

It was a surprise lunch of mine, and one of the best Ive had. The staff were co-operative with our needs. A fabulous show put on by our waiter and some fabulous food by the place. To be part of the cooking procedure was a delight indeed. 5/5.

Group of us had a really great night out in this lovely restaurant on Saturday. Very good food and wonderful staff and entertainment. We ate at one of the group tables upstairs and were catered for by "Windy" who was both an excellent chef and an even better entertainer. After the meal , we were serenaded by the house band... Description
Chai yo is split into two sections, upstairs we have three teppanyaki (hibachi) tables where the chef entertains and cooks in front of you. Down stairs we have the more conventional restaurant sitting. We serve a variety of asian cuisines such as teppanyaki, sushi, thai curries and chinese food. We love to cater for large groups at the teppanyaki tables where we can accomodate up to 40 ppl on the three tables. Dont forget every night we have singers and a guitarist to help you celebrate that perfect night.
