Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are looking for something different I highly recommend this, we were seated up top and had 1 drink whilst waiting on our table below deck, Staff were lovely and the deck below had a very romantic feel, the food was 10/10, after dinner...we were told we could go upstairs and the boat started to sail, which was a lovely experience, I even had my cheese cake upstairs. this is a must if visiting Dublin......More

Wr went as a group of 14 women and treated like cattle,,,we were so squashed in there wasn't even enough elbow room i sat on a stool bedide our table but i was told to remove myself by another customer who said she had booked...that table for herself and her 2 friends i explained that i was sitting just for a minute and not to eat but again to to get up i brought to the attention of the manager and he tried to squeeze me beside by friends he then found me a table for 2 where i sat with 1 of my friends,, as she was eat a starter and i wasn't i went to take photos of my other friends but the manage came to me straight away and told me to get back to my seat NOW,,i tried to explain that i was just taking photos of my friend's as i normally do whren we go to out to eat but he was having none of it and was so close to my face,,he was shouting at me and i got so upset and was crying but there was no way i could stay after that i was just too upset and embarrassed so i left with 1 of my friend's but all my friend's left after me,,,,,The Behaviour Of This Manager Was Appalling And I Have Never Been Spoken To Like That Before,,,,On their Facebook page it shows diners seating on top of deck eating but we where all put downstairs in a dungeon with very little space it wasn't raining so i don't see why we where put down there I will never recommend this place and advise people to avoid itMore

We couldn't have asked for a better experience; the weather was absolutely perfect, and the service and menu were as well. The menu options were limited but done so well; our meals were excellent and the wine we chose was so good we're on a...search for it here at home. It was a wonderful way to start our visit to Dublin and I can't wait for our next trip so we can eat here again.More

Got the set menu and the starter of a cheese/ meat board was fantastic. The fish choice was extremely stingy with two tiny potatoes and a tiny (I mean tiny) piece of fish. I’ve been coming here years and always a supporter of the place...but I can sadly say I won’t be back. Cutting corners that takes away quality is not a good idea. I had to get a pizza on my way home. I said to the manager what I thought and he said no one else ever complained about it? Good luck to ya.. waste of time & money. And Btw The outdoor terrace is nowhere near heater you should tell the truthMore

This was a great float on the water while eating a nice meal and downing a big cup of Guinness stout! I had an order of Guinness Beef Stew and it was one of the better versions that I had while I was in Ireland....I had it at another place and it gave me the runs, but this one was really good considering it's cooked on this boat and I was good to go. You don't even know you're on the water because it does not feel like you're floating. I love the décor of this place too, really relaxing to go up top and float on the water, under the very green trees, on a good day.More

Amazing food! The whole experience from start to finish was perfect! The waitress is always so friendly and kind. Always a great spot to get great food, I recommend the duck, the best one I ate in Ireland! OMG! Can't wait to come back! Amazing...atmosphere for group of friends and also for couples (downstairs is cozy and romantic). Was an amazing night!More

I had a reservation for my wedding anniversary Sunday that was cancelled due to the weather - which is totally understandable - however, instead of receiving a call, I got an email 3 hours before my booking that I only checked once I was standing...in front of the boat at the time of my reservation and noticed it was closed. I understand these things happen, but I would've expected more care about the customer. I was left with no place to dine on my anniversary day and still haven't had a reply to my email. After that, I decided to give it a second chance and made a booking for Thursday, only to get an email two days before (at least some notice this time) saying there was a technical issue and my booking was cancelled. It turns out the "technical issue" is that they started using another booking platform and for some reason decided to cancel my booking even though there are still available tables at the same time of my booking. This is the worst experience I've had before even setting foot in a restaurant - which thanks to that, I never will and if you want to plan your evening and not be let down, I would advise you book another place. Still waiting for an explanation as to why I was treated this poorly.More

This is my worst experience of a restaurant in Dublin, we are obliged to eat a 2 meal course at dinner for no reason without any option of only one, it's expensive, and the food is very bad and awful, i waited for a long...time more than 40 minutes and for my deception the food was burnt, i complained and requested to do a discount for the burnt food that was unacceptable and was not attended by the owner that was not not nice, i don't recommend this restaurant to anyone, also count the canal is very dirty and the smell is not very pleasant, never more!!!More

Brought my Dad here for dinner just before Level 5 restrictions were implemented in October and we had such a wonderful evening, I can't fault our experience. The La Peniche staff were so friendly and the service was excellent. The food was really tasty and...great value for money, I'll definitely be back when they re-open. #supportlocalMore

Yes,it is a very short little cruise, but the locks are so interesting! I do not think the point of the experience is the cruise,it is the ambience and food and good company! Have fun!
