The food at this pub/restaurant was delicious!Absolutely recommended, nice atmosphere, cozy place and normal prices on my opinion.Staff members are polite. Not so many options on the menu though. That is the only reason I'm not rating them "excellent"

Came in desperately hungry and the place was packed for the first game of the 6 nations. A wonderful waitress put a table together for us, practically under the stairs, after she took pity on us. We had a great time cheering with the locals and the food was hearty and delicious. She was our hero that day and we... More

As our first time visit to Galway we were unsure where to go for some food and a drink. Lady on reception at our hotel recommended we tried here so we did. Staff were very polite and the atmosphere in the pub was great. The presentation of the food was also very well presented. I had the leg of lamb... More

Nice quaint Irish pub! Lots of beer and whiskey options. We were there on a quite Tuesday evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Myself and my boyfriend were visiting Galway for a few days, we had no plans to visit any specific restaurants, just seeing where we ended up each day. We came in for lunch on saturday, just to get starters as we weren't overly hungry, I got the seafood chowder and my boyfriend got the cheese nachos. We were both very... More

What a great Pub & Restaurant in the centre of Galway City. Had lunch there this week with a friend and it was excellent. The food was great, presented very well, super service and extremely friendly. The ambience of the place was fantastic, a real old Irish pub with open fires, so cosy! They offered a nice menu with daily... More

This was the best Shepherd's pie I've ever had! Including my own. It was just heaven with a cold Smithwick Ale.

Great atmosphere, turf fireplace and all. Nice place for an afternoon pint and a hardy Irish pub meal. Staff was fantastic!!! Loved it.

We are regualar visitors to Galway and we rarely miss an opportunity to eat at Sonny's. The food is outstanding and always tastes amazing. The service is also great. Was there this past weekend and will no doubt be there a couple more times this year again.
