Every dish that came out of the kitchen was more beautiful than the next. Overflowing plates of fresh vegetables and seafood that satisfies every eater. The beet and goat cheese salad was amazing and topped with sweet potato chips…clever! My husband ordered the mussels and the small portion could have fed at least three people. They don’t take reservations so we decided to go off hours for an early dinner but it was definitely worth it! Highly recommend!!

Stumbled into this restaurant and was delighted to have done so. We had the calamari to share - followed by chowder - silky - stuffed with fish and served with a wheaten scone. Service was impeccable with very reassuring but not intrusive Covid 19 protocols in place. Great value. Great food. Great service.

A great place in Latin quarter of Galway. Food was great. We both had the Fisherman’s Vessel which was served with crusty bread. It was never ending and the best ever. Pinot Griot white wine was lovely. Chocolate bomb dessert was lovely but very rich. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

On our visit we both ordered traditional Irish beef with Guinness from the specials menu. When the plates arrived the sauce was beautiful, potatoes and bread in place but no beef in the dish.....extremely disappointing We complained, kitchen were informed, however no effort was made to replace/add beef to our dishes. After complaining again, the waitress got approval to reduce our bill. Although this gesture was appreciated, we would have preferred to pay full price and get what we ordered. If restaurants are going to offer local Irish dishes on there menus, they need to deliver the goods as advertised.

We had the most amazing meal here recently and HAD to come back for more. A restaurant that really understands allergens and cross contamination deserves to be supported, especially when the free-from options are just as plentiful and delicious as the 'normal' provider. And to top it off, the service here is really really excellent, plus the whole bill for two people, 3 courses, coffees and a bottle of wine was €98. If you're a coeliac, or if you just enjoy really nice food and service, this is the place for you.

I don’t understand why anyone would NOT visit The Quay Street Kitchen. We walked in off the street and was seated in 10 minutes after our vaccine documents wee checked. Very pleasant, attentive staff. In short, the meal was fantastic. We split the tomato basil soup. They split the order for us without prompting, which turned out to be two generous half portions each served with an oat “soda bread-esque” muffin that paired perfectly broken up in the soup. Soup was perfect temperature, perfectly seasoned, balanced between salt and a hint of pepper. We shared the Guinness beef stew and the haddock fish and chips both off the special board. The stew was full of protein and vegetables, served with two thick toast slices perfect for mopping up the rich gravy. The fish and chips came with two large pieces of haddock, perfectly crisped and not at all greasy. And the chips we hot and crispy. Where else can you get a meal like this all for €36. Quite a find!

Had the seafood chowder which was highly recommended by other viewers. It was meant to be served with a brown bread scone, but was served with two slices of barely toasted white bread. (They ran out of scones by 6:00 pm?) The chowder was being being served all night with the pale triangles of bread to unsuspecting dinner guests. Had I known, I would have selected something else. The chowder itself was scorching hot … even after the salad, it was still too hot to eat. Finally, the restaurant felt overrun by tourists. I believe the best places are where the locals eat. This is not that. The wait staff were lovely but the food … not so much. Hard pass.

I came here for lunch and the food was really good here, very generous portions and tasted great. I had beef salad and my mum had chowder, quality was excellent and they gave lots of meat in the salad and fish in the chowder! Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is good. I think they specialise more in seafood, so I assume seafood lovers will enjoy this place.

We dined here on quite a misty day, after some very sunny days in Galway. We were enticed here by some good reviews but the restaurant was not easy to find especially as there was no canopy cover to keep rain off outside. In fact, it turned out to be a great dining spot and a hidden gem in the heart of Galway. We had a short wait in the rain outside but it was worthwhile. The menu was divided between daily chalkboard specials and a la carte dishes. I had the mussels and my friend ordered the chowder with brown bread scones. We couldn’t resist the desert and shared the apple tart and ice cream – tasty but filling. The restaurant is vegan friendly and staff very helpful; the food was high quality. This restaurant is highly recommended and perhaps a hidden gem also.

We booked this restaurant on a visit to Galway as my daughter is highly allergic to gluten (very sensitive coeliac) and it got good reviews from other coeliac diners. The staff understood all about cross-contamination and really put us at our ease. Our daughter was delighted to be able to eat calamari in a gluten-free batter and chips fried in a dedicated fryer. This was topped off by chocolate bomb. As she rarely eats out due to the fear of being sick, it was a great treat to be able to eat out with our friends. A special thanks to all the staff at Quay Street Kitchen. We will be back!

This is a great little restaurant right on the start of the strip. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. We was short in time because our tour bus was leaving in 30min but she and the chef manage to prep our food with the time and we had enough time to get back to the bus in time. The menu is fairly vast but there’s definitely vegan options. I ended getting one of the specials which was the vegan lasagna. It’s has to be I’ve 20+ years since I had lasagna but it was definitely tasty. It came with a side of French fires (chips) and salad. All very good. Sorry was in a riachuelo didn’t even take a picture of my dish.

The food and service at the quay street kitchen was impeccable. We arrived in Galway late and didn't have a resevation but the waiter accomodated us. We ordered chicken wings to start. The portion was large, enough for us to share. For main i ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly and really well presented. My boyfriend ordered the goats cheese salad which he was also impressed with. The desserts were possibly the most impressive there was about 10 options catering for gluten free and vegan diets. The malteaser cheesecake was fab!

The food and atmosphere is just perfect here. The person in charge of the cooking really knows their stuff, perfectly cooked steak, wonderful lamb shanks and fish. The chips are addictive. The waiting staff are very helpful and efficient. Will return. Thanks.

Friendly service but food only average and pretty boring , somewhat overcooked , Seafood overcooked average portion, came with tons of bland vegetables. Fish and chips portion was ok, fish has a lot of batter and deep fried. Lamb portion was large, and such a big pile of Mash with it ,not the most appealing. Dessert prices are steep ,no lemon cheesecake but took another cheesecake just tasteless, piled with cream, looked very nice on the plate but very disappointing. Tea cup had several chips on it. Not the best experience,to be honest don't know if We would go back unfortunately.

The picture says it all! I had the Ribeye bacon cheese burger and chips. The burger was both substantial and layered in bacon with cheese and a mildly spicy mayonnaise. Just perfection is what i say! The fries were clean and dry with a lovely crisp and crunch to them. My partner had a beautiful fresh battered cod with veg and mash. Once again it was fresh clean and just delicious! I would like TO highly recommend this spot and i will come back to this little gem at the bottom of Shop street.
