The Ground Floor cafe on the High Street in Kilkenny is a gem for soups, sambos and coffee. Staff are very pleasant and remember their regulars. The soups are beautiful and sambos are made as you wait. Big healthy portions in a lovely, friendly atmosphere. Prices are decent too. They don't rip you off and you leave satisfied. Great spot... The staff was really rude and looked anoyed all the time. I nevertheless ordered a toasted sandwich which was okay. The toilets were dirty and didn't look like they have been cleaned lately.

Cappuccino was quite OK. Carrot cake was nice, but its delicate taste was drowned by too sweet icing. Nice environment was in contrast with not-so-nice toilets.

Horrible espresso, it was basically a short American coffee. But the almond & raspberry cake was good though.

Every time I visit (which is quite frequently to be honest) I opt for one of the homemade soups with homemade brown bread and they never ever disappoint. The soup is packed full of vegetables and always tastes very fresh. I also find the staff very helpful and friends whether I'm eating out or staying in.

Such a nice little cafe right in the heart of kilkenny city. Lovely home baked goods and the coffee is excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend here for morning coffee or lunch. There's not a lot of space so if you plan to visit with children, buggies etc best to go off peak times of the... More

There are far too many choices on the many for this place to be successful, either that or the menu needs redoing. The waitresses don't know whether they are coming or going, running around like headless chickens- if they had a simpler menu things would run more smoothly. Saying that the food was lovely! Just had a panini and crisps... More
