An excellent walk up the cinder track so a nice beer and some good food was required, and this pub provided both. The roast beef was plentiful with a good serving of veg and potatoes. The only downside was that since the place is dog...More

The food and ale are of good quality.Beer choice is limited though ... What let's this place down is it's lack of welcome and it's front of house service which amounts to unfriendly. It's as if customers aren't welcome. No offer of any further service...More

Had lunch with friends and once again the food was good pub grub and enjoyed by all. Staff are pleasant and polite and the decor is traditional with a warm atmosphere. Ladies toilets could do with a refurb, very dated.

Booked table and lady who answered was very friendly. When we arrived the advertised warm welcome was lacking. Popular with locals. Recognised a few from other pubs. Felt like a freak show. Everyone stared when we came in, same when we sat down and wasnt...More

The food is excellent! The atmosphere friendly and the staff are very helpful. The only thing stopping this lovely pub from getting five stars is the lack of choice for vegetarians. The only choice for vegetarians was the Mediterranean pasta, which was lovely. Although we...More

Good hearty pub food with roasts, liver and onions, steak pie with lots of fresh vegetables and puddings of jam sponge, lemon meringue pie and all the old favourites. Consistently good here, .
