Often go out for a nice meal during the week and decided to try the pelican. Very disappointed.ordere 2x rump steaks . It was the worst steak we have ever had . The taste was horrible it was full of grissle . Was very expensive £18.00 each . My partner is one who hates a fuss and will never complain... More

Lovely meal with great service! We had soup as starters which was piping hot and served with warm bread 😋 Two of us had faggots which were delicious and served with mash and fresh veg. One had steak the other burger and both were lovely too. Wine was a good price and full flavour. Great place to visit!

We first visited The Pelican some months ago and enjoyed the food and general ambiance on that occasion. So, being in the area again, we made a further visit. There is a free car park immediately adjacent to The Pelican giving easy access to the garden and to the building itself; in contrast to our previous visit, there were several... More

Having just moved to the village, a stones throw from the Pelly, my brother in law and I decided to check out our new 'local' for a Friday night beverage. Entering the pub at 10:15 we were greeted by an extremely unwelcoming barman who seemed unduly put out by our innocuous request for two pints. Following a blank stare and... More

My friend and I visited last Friday evening for a meal. It was 'late ish' at 8.40pm . I ordered the Butternut squash Risotto and asked the Bar staff member to check with the Kitchen as they stop serving at 9pm as I know it takes a while to prepare, he returned and said no problem . When it turned... More

Went for Sunday lunch for the first time since Butcombe took over. Table for 8 inc 2 kids. Food was really great. So often with N Somerset pubs, I find it's either super expensive, high profile gastros or cheap, overcooked food stuck in the 80's. So it's nice to have another option that serves up good ingredients, cooked really well... More

Lovely Country Pub, modern with good selection of wine. The Pelly Platter is always a good choice, but a good menu for dinner with special on the board

Went for a birthday dinner with friends, my wife ordered the burger, which she said was amazing and another friend ordered the belly pork which again was good. I ordered the daily special which was a roasted vegetable stack as the only other option was a risotto, don't get me started! It was mainly aubergine and courgette with some finely... More

What a good find! My daughter and I had a wonderful meal early last Saturday evening, From the moment we walked through the door our impressions were good and the staff greeting very warm. Food was first class, well above normal pub fare, and beautifully presented. There was an interesting and varied menu, with no excessive delays, even though all... More

Decided to go here after looking for a place to eat on Trip Advisor. We must say the garden platter was beautiful but a bit more bread would be good. The fish and chips was beautiful! Crisp batter and chunky chips! You must visit!
