Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the first look of this magnificent building to the beautiful decor inside, this place has to be one of the most pleasing to the eye. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Everything is so thoughtfully designed, from the seats having a grab bar...underneath to make it easier to pull your seat in, the seats have circular cover pads to help twist out of your seat. The toilet, wow the most beautiful sinks and a flat surface above the toilet roll for your phone. So… let’s review the food….. did not disappoint at all, excellent quality, flavours, amounts, this is thee best Chinese I have ever visited. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟More

When you walk into the Royal Baths in Harrogate, you are walking into a building that once welcomed the cream of European royalty; tsarinas, counts and kings all visited the spa town of Harrogate in its heyday. It’s impossible not to be awed by a...building that has been beautifully restored with a fine attention to detail, and the tasteful and understated furnishings of the restaurant add to the sense of refinement and elegance. If you think the food might not be able to live up to its surroundings, you would be wrong. We opted for pork and prawn sui mai for starters, which were plump, moist and delicately seasoned with herbs and shaoxing rice wine. For our main courses, I chose the dish of Chinese emperors, the smoked crispy duck. This was as good as anything that I have tasted in the shadow of the Forbidden City in Beijing: crispy skin, moist steamed meat with a hint of smoked tea and accompanied by pancakes, spring onions, cucumber, with plum and hot sin sauce. The dish was playfully decorated with an apple sculpted into a gliding duck. After some indecision, my partner chose beef with ginger and spring onions. This was another excellent choice, with tender beef and a combination of tastes and flavours that was more than the sum of its parts. Our meal was accompanied by a crisp, dry Pinot Grigio, Terre Siciliane. Service throughout was impeccable and the bill, when it arrived, represented excellent value for money.More

Arrived on time - told to wait in bar “as 8pm bookings never ready on time”. Sat down for meal 1/2 hour after booked time. Food average (at best) and staff arrogant and unhelpful in explaining the menu. Nice space but the rest well below...expectationsMore

Came here with a friend for a meal and was not disappointed. We got the set meal for 2 and thought it was really good value for money. There was plenty of food and it was tasty. We got the crispy duck as an extra,...and while it was nice, it was a little too crispy and not a lot of it for an extra £15. I wasn't a fan of the Crispy Chilli Beef, but the rest of the food in the set meal was really tasty. I particularly liked the BBQ ribs. The service was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and extremely attentive. The place was very clean and the food arrived quickly. I would definitely come back here and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good Chinese food.More

Chinese restaurant in the former entrance to the Harrogate baths which has been updated very tastefully. Very friendly and professional staff. Interesting menu. Food excellent with a selection of different flavours. The meat dishes were very tender and tasty. Jasmine tea perfect with the food...and served in lovely crockery. Overall excellent.More

Last minute decision to eat at this Chinese restaurant. We were lucky to get a table for two as we hadn't booked ahead but the staff member who greeted us was very welcoming and showed us to a table. This is a beautiful building, we...were pleasantly surprised. Extremely attentive and friendly staff, excellent menu choices, fresh tasteful food. Portion sizes great, good value for money. Nice to see female manager or senior member of staff doing the rounds during the evening, shows pride and interest in the running of the business which is sadly missing in many establishments today. Would highly recommend this restaurant.More

Been here many times and it never fails to disappoint. Unfortunately our party of three turned into two as one friend took ill. From the moment we entered, the service was exceptional. Yes there is a 10% service charge automatically added, however you can request...to have this removed if you wish. We didn't and actually tipped on top as we were both so happy. We opted for a selection of starters to share. Crispy seaweed, crispy squid, and lobster and prawn dim sum certainly whetted our appetites. For our mains we ordered the Szechuan peppercorn chicken and beef curry with steamed rice, noodles and bean sprouts as accompaniments. Irish coffees finished the meal off perfectly. With drinks our bill was just shy of £120. Well worth every penny.More

Our table of four each had the Three Course Set Dinner which was fresh, delicious, varied, and well presented. An excellent evening's dining with very good wine choices and superb service. Also, the venue is a treat in itself. Hard to beat in Harrogate.

This is great historic venue in the town centre, unfortunately I can’t say the same about our visit early doors on Friday. Started with Won Ton Parcels which were tasteless. While the price of mains are reasonable they are not what I would say generous..., so we had to get a third main. Sweet & Sour Chicken was ok, Beef Black Bean spice. was ok Chicken Ginger&Spring Onion was weak & watery. When we were seated we ordered a beer & a medium Sauvignon Blanc. without looking at the wine list. BIG MISTAKE. When the bill arrived the wine was £11.50 for 1.75ml. That’s equal to £46 per bottle, and that’s without the 10% service. = to £50 per bottle. We will not be back in a hurry.More
