Arrived in Burton Leonard for a 4 night cottage stay in early Jan, and hoped to eat here when we arrived but it was closed for 2 nights due to illness. Managed to get in for a meal later which we enjoyed. Thursday night is curry night, so I had a starter (samosas) and a main (choice of 3 curries... More

Visited early evening on a Saturday, whilst staying in a nearby village. Lovely place with a very welcoming landlady, wood burner, & lovely cozy atmosphere. Great choice of meals on a small menu, but there were several dishes that took my fancy. My wife & I settled on a sirloin steak with all the trimmings & a sauce each for... More

We have been going to the Royal Oak for years as my parents live in the village and their food is always outstanding, we went last night for my sisters 40th birthday celebrations and there were 12 of us and the service was outstanding and everyone's food was fantastic! Even though we were a big group we were all served... More

We went with our friends who live in Burton Leonard and another couple visiting them, to have dinner, and turned out to be a brilliant night. Very Friendly staff, and the one who served us, Angela, was so patient with us to choose our food. The atmosphere was brilliant as everyone is local in that small village, so they know... More

Visited during "Pie Night Special". Staff very busy but made us very welcome and apologised for delay. As it turned out, the delay was minimal and did not detract from the good food and pleasant atmosphere. Selected two mains which were delicious and well presented. Prices were about average. Staff were a credit to the establishment..... Thank you.

We've lived in Harrogate for 16 years and were unaware of this treasure of pub until we had a long overdue catch up with a lovely couple. Sunday lunch was wonderful - generous helpings, fresh vegetables and 'can do' staff made it a great experience. Would recommend a long walk before or afterwards to burn up the copious calories you...
