Wanted to book 11 persons for evening meal, was informed after some deliberation that we could be accommodated. However with a reduced menu (no steaks) and we had to pre order. Was sent menu and forwarded to Spain/Scotland and local as this was a family...reunion. On receiving their choices I collated them into how many of each starter/main course and puddings were required. On phoning the restaurant I was told very abruptly to send it and he hung up. I immediately phoned back and said how rude was he doing this, to which he replied the conversation was over as far as he was concerned. I explained it would take no more than a minute to tell him our order but he replied he was too busy. On finding an alternative venue I emailed and cancelled the booking. Well done the Whitminster restaurant for stepping in and taking our our late booking. We had a great time with excellent food and service with no menu restrictions or pre orders required. The restaurant was extremely busy with one room of 66 and every table taken. In todays tough market for the catering trade I would have thought friendly customer service was vital to get as much custom as possible. I will and have already told friends and will continue to slate this business.More

We are visitors to Gloucester and called in for lunch after a visit to the lovely cathedral. We only had a sandwich, but WOW what a sandwich!! Loads of delicious home cooked beef, chips and a very fresh salad - all for £6.50! Excellent value...- it would be about £10 where we live! The staff were lovely, the landlord / manager was working his socks off and so polite and helpful, and the loos were spotless. No wonder it was busy - can't wait to try the Sunday lunch for Steak night!!More

What a day. My family arranged for a surprise party for me at the fountain inn, Sunday lunch. The staff and the food were fantastic cannot say how welcoming they were. Nothing was to much trouble. We decided to go back yesterday for a meal...as i had never been there before. The steak and wine deal was absolutely brilliant. Steak was just great. Had a starter that i would just go back for. Again the staff and food were absolutely lovely. Thank you to you all two visits and i will be back again.More

We had lunch at the Fountain last Saturday and managed to find a sunny table in the courtyard. We had very nice sandwiches also with generous fries and salad, and it was all done with warm friendly service. It was all very pleasant. Thank you.

Very good pub lunch and drinks. Very good food at resonable prices with excellent service. Would be a tad better if the loos were nice and clean and they reviewed their policy of allowing dogs where food is served.

Fourteen family and friends got together to celebrate our Grand-daughter's Christening. We went to The Fountain Inn and had a really excellent Sunday lunch. Most of us had a roast meal and some had starters and desserts. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We...all really enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend The Fountain for an occasion of that sort. Great food and a very pleasant atmosphere.More

I'm with friends and family after attending a funeral locally and this pub this establishment had been informed of this wake and that a wake was happeing in the establishment. Now a freind at this establishment a freind and family member who has been allegedly...previously banned from the establishment was attending the wake after the funeral, we where drinking and had one pint so far, we drank out side whilst smoking cigarette and someone who we both know who was at the funeral and the wake comes over Instead of the establishments pub staff comes over and gracefully pulls over to one side the alleged banned person our freind our family. not staff to speak to the person they have previously allegedly banned but they sent someone else from the wake to speak to them to have them removed and tel them they can not be I pub establishment amd they can not be their even to attend the wake after a funeral. The fact the owner manger staff of this establishment reading from reviews ment to be a top establishment in gloucester couldn't even come out to speak to us and the alleged banned person directly well I am shocked and disappointed they couldn't even have compassion to speak to them themselves or the professionalism to come out and speak to them themselves, they where seen lurching in doors ways and talking to our freinds our family and others attending the wake whislt pointing at the alleged person banned. Frankly disappointed that they can't do human compassion and allow even if banned be their for one hour have a drink at at wake with family and others and I say alleged banned becasue I don't think the establishment can prove anything of sort that it was even the same person they could of legitimately banned, have they got cctv footage of my freinds and family who they accused to have done wrong to have been banned. I really I'm disgusted at what I saw and heard from this establishment whilst with freinds family trying to celebrate life that has been taken at a wake after a funeral.More

Hi, Would be surprised if they only did a roast but guess a quick call would let you know. If the Sunday roast is anything like the other food, it will be excellent. Good luck and hope you enjoy.

Not at the inn itself, but there is plenty of parking within easy walking distance.
