Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gone downhill. Staff on reception were lovely and welcoming. Served drinks quickly and again staff were polite and overall good. Food was awful. Starters were dry and tasteless. We had 4 curries and none were that great. We had been before over a year ago...and has really enjoyed it but the food was nowhere near as good. It always did feel a bit like a canteen but had been ok when food was good. Unless reviews improve we would not go back.More

The food is ok and budget however, the atmosphere reminded me of a school canteen. I can see why people like it but not for me.

First time and last time I will come here. First issue was parking I needed a disabled space and cars and a van were using them without a badge displayed. The staff were very nice and showed us to our tables amd explained what to...do. Table was disgraceful dirty and basic with a napkin and a spoon and fork, where was the knife ???? The bench was falling to pieces and wobbly. The food was dire the onion bhajis were dry and Luke worm. The rice was dry the curries although had about 8 different dishes I was disappointed there was no madras. The chips were also luke warm and when I asked for salt he showed me the ketchup. To sum it up the place is in urgent need of redecorating, a good clean and the food quality requires huge improvement.More

We hired on site catering for a stag weekend for 30 people on Friday. The food was fantastic, excellent value for money and the staff were very accommodating and helpful, especially with dietary requirements and allergies. I'd highly recommend Slice of India for anyone considering...on-site catering. Thank you all for your hard work and for helping to make an excellent weekend for us!More

Quality of the food on par with ala cart. Can't fault it barring few dishes. We try to go once a week at least. They can perhaps reduce the price a bit as its bit pricey.

Won a voucher so booked a time slot as this was our first time at this restaurant. Dining area is huge with well spaced out tables, very good decor and the staff do an excellent job at clearing tables and preparing them for the next...customers. Buffet is very good with lots of choice, starters, mains and desserts and you can keep eating until you can take no more. I would have liked some background music to muffle the sound of plates/cutlery being cleared away but all in all a very good value tasty meal to be had here.More

Not been in a good 7+ years and had fond memories of the place however after visiting last week I was dissapointed with the experience. Myself and my wife visited in the hope of expanding my wife's choice of curries from the safe Korma and...Tikka masala. The starters was actually half decent hence the 2 stars, i enjoyed the chikken tikka in particular. The mains however was very poor, i tried several curries, alot ive not heard of so cant mention the names but didn't enjoy one. The lamb rogan josh was very poor and tasted of lamb fat. The korma myself and my wife both instantly took a disliking too, how is it so bad? Its a simple coconut based curry. Some of the staff did look unprofessional, one staff in particular, a young lad (cook) in the cooking stations stood on his phone without a care in the world, not really a professional look when people are paying to eat a meal. On the other hand, like others have said its like a 2/3* all inclusive buffet. My free refills of soft drink was quickly refilled just as I quickly returned to the chicken tikka starter section. All in all, very dissapointed and went to morrisons up the road after around 45 minutes total time in the building to get something else to eat to finish the night and wont return unless theres a major change.More

I visited the Slice of India tonight with my family, the floor around our table was filthy, there was dried food on the base of the table legs! The food wasn’t nice at all, it was luke warm & the curry tasted like washing powder!...Felt like I was in a cheap all inclusive hotel...will not be going again, ever.More

This place does the job if you want a variation of dishes at a cheap price. The starters were great. The main courses were OK. The deserts were good for kids. What more do you want for 15 quid ?

A family get together, age range from baby to grand parents. It was on a Sunday and it was quite busy. The car parking ample. Not the most salubrious setting but very smart inside. We enjoyed the meals, vegetarian or not, a buffet where you...can pick what you want from Indian to European cuisine. The service was efficient and friendly. I had an Indian meal. The starters were varied and tasty, I must admit the main course mild curries were rather bland and uninteresting but mixed with some starters, they made a very acceptable meal. The sweets were also delicious and the ice cream great. I went back for seconds and would visit this restaurant again which says it all.More

I booked a table for myself and my two children. So a table for 3. My kids one is 10 and the other 8. We ate and than time to pay I give them the table number they tell me the price and I thought...it doesn’t sound right but, I paid nonetheless. When I got into the car I thought now way did what we have cost nearly £60. Upon closer inspection they charged me for two adults and two children. When I called to tell them of their error I was treated like I’d lied. I explained and even offered to return and was told no you will get a call back we need to check the cctv - I thought what person in their right mind would go and pay for food if their intention was to steal?! Or walk out without paying….The tone of voice and attitude the guy gave me on the phone was vile. I ended up having to drive back to go show my receipt in order to be seen to and get it sorted. So to anyone considering going here - please check your bill before leaving and the customer service I received after I reported their error was disgraceful. Thank you for the apology I never got and than on top of it you still altered my refund to suit you by coming up with some explanation that you charged my daughter incorrectly yet you had the receipt which was the proof. Never again 👎🏽…If I could give zero stars I would…More

Booked for my daughter’s birthday for the family… so looking forward to it…. However they no longer do the chops or chicken breast which was the main reason that I booked it tbh, especially the chops!! Cold, dry pizza and chips, along with the terrible...Sikh kebabs that looked like they had been reheated!! No one was happy even with the mains… cold naan and not the best spices used in the curries! On to the desserts…MARSHMALLOWS AND SOME OF THE DESSERTS ARE NOT HALAL!! And they fail to mention this!!!! I know because I ask everywhere that I go. Gajrela and yellow ras malai terrible!! Thank goodness my sister had arranged a birthday cake! A long way to go for sub standard food… as for the price … far better buffets to go to and far cheaper. Was it worth nearly £21 per person inclu unlimited soft drink… it most certainly wasn’t!! Been here several times over the years but unfortunately the food just doesn’t taste like it did.. Sorry but time for the chop!!!🐑🐑More
