Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went to Emeralds official opening day. Everything was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, the live singer was great and the atmosphere was spot on. Definitely coming back.

Went to Mansion for the first time In a while. Still a nice bar. Just needs some live singers or a DJ to get the people in. Nice place to go after a meal and relax.

A slmall group of us popped into the Mansion, last week. They had a good selection of gins and some delicious fruit-based cocktails. Decor is good although, since it wasn;t the weekend, it was quiet

Excited to be going for a christmas party night which included a 3 course meal and live music. We booked a booth the saturday before christmas via e mail. Noone seemed to be aware of our booking and when eventually it was sorted out we...were told that we couldnt eat in the booth. We accepted that but were then told that there was only a table of seven booked in but the chef usually made extra food so it should be ok for us to have some. We felt rushed with our drinks and decided not to stay there. The initial service of getting a drink was very slow altbough there were seemingly plenty of staff on. I wont be visiting this establishment again.More

My friends and I booked the Ladies Night evening at Mansion as our Christmas night out this year. On arrival I noted that there was only two tables set up for dinner and that there were a lot of men in the bar area. I...assumed it was from a lunchtime booking so wasn't too bothered. However, when the table behind us arrived half the table were men. Don't get me wrong, it didn't cause any problems, but as the evening had been advertised as a Ladies night I really wasn't expecting men to be there as well. The location of our table was ok, we did get an occasional draft when the door opened but it wasn't that bad. The spot lights above our table were very bright and it actually showed how dirty some of the cutlery and glasses were. We had to ask for clean knives and wine glasses. The food was ok, the display of the smoked salmon was a very odd crescent shape that just left a large gap on the plate making it look like something had been missed off the plate. The seabass was very nice and the roasted vegetables and red cabbage was lovely, the chocolate torte was also nice. The 2 for 1 offer on the Cocktails is a nice idea but the fact it has to be the same cocktails was silly, not everyone likes the same drinks. Also, they had run out of passion fruit so the Porn Star Martini's weren't available and then my Mojito was more ice than anything else. The entertainment was ok, to be honest it was difficult to hear ourselves talk when the singer began as he was very loud. His songs choice was very strange as he only did a few Christmas songs but then did about 5 Oasis songs in a row. The music playing in the toilets was much better by the end of the night! Unfortunately, I felt quite disappointed by this evening as it really wasn't what I was expecting and I don't think I'll be visiting this restaurant again.More

Ok here goes, booked 14 people for champagne breakfast for 50 th birthday , room was freezing, food was appalling apart from the fried breakfast , everything else came out cold and not what was on the menu , i.e: eggs benedict = 2 muffins,2...eggs surrounded by mushrooms and cold , the 2 girls tried their hardest , were polite but were out of their depths when presenting and cooking a champagne breakfast. We did speak to the manager on the phone and get it down to £17 pp from £21.95 but they should stick to drinks , start of my 50th celebrations not goodMore

We got a groupon deal to come here. I work in food service myself and am normally very lenient with service provision but the waitress that dealt with us was honestly the worst I have ever encountered. There was only my party (4 of us)...and another table of two in the restaurant and the waitress was totally uninterested (sat on her phone at the bar for most of the time). She took the order wrong and we didn't all eat together as my sister had to wait for her meal, she dropped the other tables food all over the floor with no apology. She came over 2 minutes after we had finished eating and asked if we wanted the bill (clearly trying to get rid) and we said no we'd like to look at desserts please. We decided to go elsewhere for dessert as we felt she wanted us to leave. When taking payment from my Dad she didn't even say thank you and proceeded to clear our drinks off the table when they were still half full! It was beyond a joke. The food itself was nice. My mum and I both had the mushroom risotto (small portion but tasted nice), my sister had the fish and chips (which was a large portion and she said was excellent) and my Dad had a cajun chicken burger. We were overall impressed by the quality of the food compared to the awful service. The restaurant was gearing up for a 50th Birthday party so the doors were open letting the freezing cold in and we asked the waitress to close the doors (she didn't) and it took the other table asking for the doors to be closed for her to do it. I could understand the poor service if she had been run off her feet busy but she sat at the bar on her phone for 20 minutes at a time so no excuse really. Unfortunately, the food didn't really make up for the fact that we felt unwanted and uncomfortable for the entire meal. I would give it one star but they got an extra for the food being nice. Avoid like the plague!More

Refreshingly well presented and clean establishment, perhaps a little pricey but I guess they are aiming to keep out some types; can’t blame them really, no comment on food as didn’t eat, but looked good and no complaints heard from surrounding diners, service was prompt...and with a smile, can’t ask for more on a Tuesday at 7.More

Seated downstairs I think it's about 22-25 covers with an additional 12 outside & approximately 16 upstairs. Standing I'd say approx 35-40 downstairs & 20 upstairs. I hope that helps!
